Incredible Tour of Assin Manso, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, and Kakum National Park! - I truly enjoyed the incredible tour to Assin Manso, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle, and Kakum National Park provided by Kwame Tours. This tour was a perfect blend of history, culture, and nature, and I cannot recommend it enough! The tour began at Assin Manso, once a final stop for many enslaved Africans before being sent to the Americas. Walking the grounds and learning about the significance of this site was emotional, but also incredibly powerful. Next, we visited the Cape Coast Castle. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, offering insights into the transatlantic slave trade and sharing stories that made history come alive. We then had lunch at the Lemon Lounge, and the service and food were great. Next, we visited Elmina Castle and the guided tour was expertly done. Our driver, James, was very flexible and accommodating, and he graciously took pictures and videos of our group throughout the day to help us capture our memorable experiences. We ended our tour at Kakum National Park where we were able to learn about the local flora and fauna. It was a wonderful way to connect with nature after learning about such profound historical experiences. Overall, this tour was well-organized, and our guides were kind, professional, knowledgeable, and respectful throughout. If you’re visiting Ghana, this tour is an absolute must for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s rich history while also enjoying its natural beauty. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! I highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Ghana.

Great day tour from Accra to see key sites - Very well organised trip to the National park, and both castles to learn all about Ghana’s history in the slave trade. As a couple, we joined a bigger family group and were transported in an air conditioned van safely. Local guides assisted at each location and the experience was fantastic. Lunch at the seaside cafe was great too - recommend the Red Red with fish & a cold Club beer A long drive home (unavoidable) after the sites but a well arranged tour. Thanks, Kwame & team

A tour everyone should do - This tour starts with a high adrenaline canopy walk in the forest, which is the fun part. The trip to the castles is heart-wrenching and sickening, but so important to experience. You learn about slavery before the departure of the slave ships. Every person should do this tour so that we remember we are all human, the cruelty that can happen when we are driven by greed and how critical it is we ensure it never happens again.

Great Experience - Going to Cape Coast and booking this tour was a spur-of-the-moment decision but we are so glad we did it! Mike, our driver and tour guide, was extremely accommodating with our pick-up and drop-off and he knew the location extremely well. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and was happy to answer all our questions about the area. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of exploring the Cape Coast area.

Excellent one-day experience with a terrific guide - Booked this tour in our last week of a months-long trip to Ghana and loved every second of it. Mike was an incredible tour guide who got us around efficiently and knew all of the areas extremely well. He would even strike up conversations with other tourists we met in the area. He was also very accommodating in terms of pick up and drop-off. Overall, an unbeatable one-day experience if you're interested in visiting some of Ghana's best destinations!

Very well balanced 1-day Cape Coast tour - We had an excellent tour with Kwame Tours. Daniel, our driver and guide was prompt and transported us safely to/from Cape Coast. The Kakum Canopy Walk was a real fun experience. The the visits to Elmina and Cape Coast Castles were informative and sobering, particularly the latter where we had a brilliant tour by the museum guide. I would recommend Kwame Tours to others, particularly if you enjoy private tours as was in my case.

Well planned trip for a group of 6 - We booked the full day cape coast tour for a group of 6. Three adults and three kids 15,12 and 8. The drive from Accra was long and due to road system we left early our driver was swift and made sure we moved quickly. Our guide was Daniel he was excellent he even had time to entertain an 8-year old that was bored on the road. Kakum park is definitely one that you need prepare to walk have good shoes we were there during rainy season and there was some slipping and sliding. But everyone was safe. The ropes are high but they give you the option not to take the higher courses. Only 2 of our groups did the high ropes. We had an absolute blast. Both Elimina and Cape Coast are heavy experiences to see how the Dutch and the British held humans as currency and bartered them for spices and trivialities like combs. Overall as a black American it was something I needed to see for myself but be prepared for a sobering experience. Kwame tours handled and thought of everything we booked our trip as an all inclusive so they handled food water and everything but you can opt to buy your own meals. They also picked us up from our Accra home so it was true door to door well thought out experience. We ended up later contacting them to book a private tour to Boti Falls, Tete Quarshie’s Cocoa Farm and Cedi Beads.
