CANOPY WALK WAY AND KAKUM RAIN FOREST – SLAVE DUNGEON EXPERIENCE (CAPE COAST CASTLE)

Kakum National Park - After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to Cape Coast, passing through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to reach Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s remaining tropical rainforests. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through the rainforest to explore its diverse flora and fauna and their medicinal properties, or take a walk on the canopy walkway suspended 40 meters above the forest floor.

After lunch on your own, embark on a tour of Ghana’s infamous forts, castles, and slave dungeons. Learn about the history of the slave trade and its lasting impact beyond Africa’s shores. Visit the Cape Coast Castle, built by the Swedes in 1653 and later taken over by the British. Experience the dark and cramped dungeons, imagining the conditions endured by millions of Africans.

This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum.

Kumasi - After breakfast, leave your hotel and spend the day visiting the three renowned Ashanti craft villages: Ahwiaa, known for its wood carvers; Ntonso, famous for Adinkra cloth; and Bonwire, the Kente weaving village.

KUMASI - ACCRA

Kumasi - After breakfast, check out of your hotel and travel to Accra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

ACCRA – LOME CITY TOUR

Lome - After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to Togo. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour of Lome. Drive by the Musée National (National Museum) and the Place de l’Indépendance (Independence Square, where the Independence Monument is located). Visit the Grand Marché (Grand Market) and the Marché des Féticheurs (Fetish Market).

TOGOVILLE

Togoville - After breakfast, leave your hotel to visit Togoville, a beach resort on Lake Togo. Cruise on the lake to the 17th-century Catholic Cathedral, which hosted Pope Paul during his visit to Togo, and explore the five main voodoo shrines on the island.

LOME – OUIDAH – COTONOU

Cotonou - After breakfast, check out and head to Ouidah, the cradle of African Traditional Religion, on your way to Cotonou. Tour the temple dedicated to the sacred Python, believed to provide vitality and protection, and visit the sacred forest housing many shrines dedicated to various deities. Afterwards, visit the Port of No Return, a monument built by the Benin Government to commemorate the Africans taken from the Dahomey Empire during the Slave Trade. Continue northwards to Cotonou. Check into your hotel and relax.
