- Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões - This excursion takes place in Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, one of the most extraordinary places in the northeastern part of the island of São Miguel (+/- 45 minute drive away from the city of Ponta Delgada). Upon arrival, we will proceed with the distribution of your personal equipment and then set off on short walk of ~ 15min to our first stop where we will have our first safety briefing.
We will then continue on a short scramble uphill where we will then stop for our second safety briefing, where we will show you how to rappel before continuing onwards and upwards for another ~10min to the start of the canyon where the fun will begin!
After reaching the top of the canyon you will start the second part of your adventure. You can expect several jumps (between 2 and 7 meters in height), all optional, a natural slide and some abseils (between 5 and 15m in height). We will walk back along our initial path to the starting point.
NOTE:
– The exact itinerary including jumps, abseils and other techniques will depend on local conditions and seasons. The terrain, landscape and flow of the stream normally change throughout the year.

A fun day in the wild! - We had never tried canyoning before and this was a nice introduction with jumps, sliding, rappelling and some swimming. A fun and fresh experience in the nature and we would definitely do it again. Our guides were very much engaged and helpful :)

A must do in the Azores! - We had an awesome time Canyoning with Fun Activities Azores. Therese and Bruno kept us laughing and safe. I can't wait to come back and do more tours with the company. They were on time, informative, and super fun to hang out with during the experience.

For those who like adventure, Canyoning is an excellent option. - Canyoning is an adventure activity that consists of traveling natural spaces, using the local geography to descend streams using different techniques such as tirolesa, rapel and jumps. The tour was great, I felt safe and taken care of by the guide team, being they: Diego, Pedro, Teresa and Rodrigo. For those who like adventures, it is a great option.

This is a can't miss experience! - We did had a tour with Diogo and it was the highlight of our trip. He was an amazing guide. The park as incredibly beautiful to walk around, but you go on the canyoning trip you get to walk up the river and see a totally different area. The repelling and jumps were exhilarating. If you are in the Azores make sure you book this tour!

A fun adventure for experiencing Sao Miguel! - This was so much fun! A great mix of tasks (belay, zipline, slides, and jumps)...we had a great day and the sights were awesome. Our guides (Ricardo and Therese) were wonderful...fun, supportive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Fantastic fun family adventure - We had a fantastic time with the team from Fun Activities. Diego, Iris and Bruno were great fun, very encouraging and made sure all the family had a good time. All the activities felt very safe and well controlled. Everyone was given time if they were a bit hesitant about completing one of the jumps or activities or needed some reassurance. Everything was very well organised. All kit and equipment was ready and waiting for us. We all pushed the limits of our comfort zone but in a good way! The national park is also such a beautiful place. We were lucky with a hot day so it was a perfect activity. The team shared great photos and videos of the day with us afterwards which was much appreciated. Booking online was very easy too. Good information provided. Highly recommended.

Lots of fun canyoning - I wasn’t sure what to expect for this experience but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Some initial hiking through a beautiful landscape and then coming down the river by zip line, rappelling next to a waterfall and a series of jumps into the river from 2-6 meters high. Rodrigo, Pedro and Claudio were all excellent guides, very safe and very fun. I would highly recommend this experience.
