What incredible Lava lake with Super organized tour - The Danakil tours are all roughly the same. 3 days of a very hard road trip, with rudimentary living conditions. It is not only the hottest region on earth, but also the most geographically active. It is a blisteringly hot desert, which has lava flows and salt plains and lakes below the sea level. Can you imagine how this would look like? It is a lifetime experience to see geological formation so strange, and so beautiful. Thanks Mickey

Unforgettable experience and excellent service! - We had booked Danakil Depressions 3 Days Tours & 2 Days Lalibela with the Aman Ethiopia Tours team. Their services exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Abe, was very informed and nice. His vast knowledge of every location made our trip more exciting. Thanks to them for giving me a meaningful and amazing journey.

Amazing Tour - 5 out of 5. I used Danakil Depression Tours for 2 trips - one to Danakil and another to Omo Valley. The owner, Mickey, was amazing from start to finish - and my two guides - Ashu and Abey were knowledgeable and fantastic guides.

The gateway to the hill - I wish everyone has possibility to visit Danakil depression . That feeling that you experience while you there probably nowhere in the world you can't get it . Temperatures there are pretty high +40 +50c but because of dry air it's not as bad as it sounds . The only thing make sure bring hat if it's sunny day . Sleeping in open air hotel was awesome if the sky is clear before you fall a sleep you can see milky way in the sky if there are new moon . Danakil Depression tour made excellent trip. We will definitely come for omo valley

Other part of the universe - I am surprised that more Western tourists haven't heard of the Danakil Depression, as it is one of the most extraordinary places that I have seen in all my travels across the world. The acid springs of Dallol, the glittering salt flats, and the bubbling lava fountains of Erta Ale are just stunning. As it is one of the hottest places on the planet, prepare to be somewhat uncomfortable and to stay in basic accommodations, although tour operators like Danakil Depression Tours took very good care of us when we went

If you visit ethiopia that is must place to visit - I visited the Danakil Depression in May 2024 and had the most amazing time; I'm not sure there is anywhere quite like it in the world. We did a three day trip. Climbing up Erta Ale was enjoyable and not too challenging, camping at the top under the stars was spectacular and the view looking into the lava lake was unforgettable. This is one of 6 open lava lakes in the world and we could get right up close and look down into the crater. We also visited the salt flats, the multicoloured minerals coming up through the salt and our guide took us to the salt lake and hot springs for free. Like I said, this was one of the most unforgettable and wild places I have ever been to. We went with Mickey and he made the trip perfect. The weather was bad the day we arrived so we had to delay the trip by one day, Mickey gave us a free city tour and half price trip to Gheralta to make up for the delay (which was the weather's fault, not his!). Him and his company took us out for meals, spoke great English and made us feel really welcome. He also helped plan the rest of our trip in Ethiopia, suggesting places, booking flights and arranging accommodation. Going with him was the best decision we made on our trip and would 100% recommend the Ethiopia and Mickey to anyone thinking of going.

Recommended - The staff were all very reliable. It can be a bit of a tough tour, but it was good to be there. Salt is now transported by truck rather than camel.

Speechless tour with an amazing team!! ✨💯💯 - Well the tour was really awesome and I really mean it!!! I came with by recommendation from few friends who did the tour. And well that is something unique in your life. Whatever the pictures it doesn't the reflect at 💯 what you have in the front of your eyes! Exo Aka / Mickey , was really really careful with the team ( I went solo and I join a group of 15 people ). It was a really nice to meet him and also get to know the drivers who are really experienced and know the dialects of the afar région and some legend and myths. By the way shout out the drivers cause the environment is very hostile , The cars were in good condition and fortunately because driving 3 to 6 hours a day in the desert you must have good cars and experienced drivers. if you are lucky you might see some lava at the erta ale.... Speechless. And go also early in the morning to see the sun rise at the erta ale, ( i didn't do it ...and I regret it ) Anyway the organisation from A To Z was awesome thanks to all the team of Danakil depression tour ! Things to bring : - toilet paper - sun cream /glasses - hat - disinfectant gel - and your good energy ! 🌟 For the food , it was really good I didn't expect to have the quality of food it this remote area: But the cooking team is able to prepare Fasting food ( vegetarian ) And also some pancakes for breakfast with eggs and toast ... Awesome work :) Any way really recommand this tour !!!!! ✨✨🇪🇹🇪🇹
