Out of this world trek in Simien mountains - Ethiopia at its most epic - 4 days trekking in Simien Mountains! This surpassed our every expectation and was the highlight of our 2 week trip traveling around Ethiopia. 4 days of trekking and 3 nights staying in the National Park was a truly immersive way to experience some of Africa's most spectacular scenery. This was all organised excellently by Micky who arranged a trekking guide (Melis), dedicated cook (Fentay) & assistant (Sadu) and safety scout (Seyalam). The whole team went above and beyond to ensure myself and my wife felt very welcome, comfortable and experienced the best of Ethiopia's warm hospitality - we all felt like a family - 'amusignalhu' thank-you!

Great agency to arrange Simien Mountains - We did the 4 days trek in the simien mountains.Every trip starts with good plan, lucky us we got excellent recommendation for Mickey agency which helped us planning the best trip possible. We talked with him on whats app before our trip and got from him all the details needed.Everything was arranged perfectly starting the pickup from Gondar airport, all the service we got during the trek itself like good food, good and new equipment (tenth etc).It really felt like 5 star hotel in the mountains .As we decided to carry our "mochillas" on our back and not to be carried by animals, Mickey suggested us to leave unnecessary staff in his office.First day started early morning driving from Gondar to Debark where we registered at the simien national park office. Our excellent guide Solomon, the national park ranger and the cook assisant joined us there and we continue towards the starting point. After about 4 hours walk that included some rain :-) we arrived to the first camp Sankaber (~3200m), a hot tea/coffee, popcorn were waiting for us by our great team, it is needles to say that the camp was ready for us and our cook (which we called "the chef") was already working on our dinner which included a delicious soup as a starter, main course and also desert.. (did I say 5 star ..:-) ). The second day included 5-6 hours walk with a beautiful site seeing, same routine happened when we arrived to the second camp Geech (~3600m). The third day was the most difficult day, we started the morning with ~4 hours climbing to 3970m and after a short break we went down to 3500m and climbed back to ~4070m.After a lunch break we we walked down for about 2 hours to the third camp Chenek (~3620m).Forth day is actually about 4-5 hours climbing to the highest point in this trek ~4400m and back to the camp.Views are breathtaking and no camera can really show you what you see with your own eyes... I really recommend to go to the simiens and don't miss Danakil Depression Tours as your travel arranger. Thank you Mickey
