- St. George’s Cathedral - Built on the orders of Emperor Menelik II to celebrate his remarkable victory over the Italians at Adwa in 1896, and consecrated in the name of St George (the patron saint of Ethiopia), who was symbolically present at the battle through his icon, this cathedral in the Piazza district is among the most splendid churches in Addis. The cathedral’s modest grey stone facade belies the vibrant colors and artwork inside. The ceilings are painted a brilliant sky-blue, adorned with golden stars, and the walls of the most sacred area are embellished with paintings and mosaics by the famous artist Afewerk Tekle.

Great service - We have an amazing half day tour with Simen image tour and travel, the took us to amazing part the city and visited everything listed on the itinerary, and we had a great Ethiopian coffee at Tomoca and it was so amazing.
