- National Museum of Ethiopia - The National Museum is considered one of the most significant in sub-Saharan Africa. The highlight is undoubtedly the paleontological exhibition in the basement, which houses the world-renowned Lucy. Her discovery in 1974 in the Afar region of northwestern Ethiopia revolutionized our understanding of human origins.
Additionally, the museum features fossilized remains of remarkable extinct creatures, such as the enormous sabre-toothed feline Homotherium and the gigantic savannah pig Notochoerus.
The ground floor’s periphery is dedicated to the pre-Aksumite, Aksumite, Solomonic, and Gonderian periods. The extensive collection includes an intricate pre-1st-century-AD bronze oil lamp depicting a dog chasing an ibex, a captivating 4th-century-BC rock-hewn chair adorned with mythical ibexes, and ancient Sabaean inscriptions. On the 1st floor, there is a vibrant display of Ethiopian art, ranging from early (possibly 14th-century) parchment to 20th-century canvas oil paintings by prominent modern artists.

Ethnological Museum - The Ethnological Museum in Addis Ababa is among the finest ethnographic museums in East Africa. It offers visitors a comprehensive understanding of Ethiopia’s diverse cultural groups through its impressive display, which focuses on the life cycle from birth to death. The museum beautifully describes the country’s history, religion, food culture, and natural facts.

Holy Trinity Cathedral - Built in 1942, the Holy Trinity Cathedral is notable for its stunning stained glass windows and unique stone art on the walls. The cathedral serves as a cemetery for significant figures in the country. Inside, visitors can find the grave of Emperor Haile Selassie I.
-
Entoto Natural Park - Entoto Natural Park rises high above the capital and serves as a historical sanctuary. It offers a unique opportunity to explore breathtaking ancient mountain nature, with streams flowing from clear springs and waterfalls.
-
St. George’s Cathedral - Commissioned by Emperor Menelik II to commemorate his remarkable 1896 victory over the Italians in Adwa, and dedicated to St. George (Ethiopia’s patron saint), whose icon was carried into battle, this Piazza cathedral is one of Addis Ababa’s most beautiful churches. The grey stone exterior is surpassed by the interior’s vibrant colors and art. Sections of the ceiling glow sky-blue and feature gilded stars, while the outer walls of the innermost shrine are adorned with paintings and mosaics by the renowned Afewerk Tekle.
The church, built in a traditional octagonal form with a severe neoclassical style, was completed in 1911 with the assistance of Greek, Armenian, and Indian artists. Empress Zewditu (in 1916) and Emperor Haile Selassie (in 1930) were both crowned here.
