Highlights
  • Mercato Market - Mercator is the biggest open air market in Africa, crowded and vivid, full of merchants and customers. You will not only see traditional basketry, pottery and livestock to be sold here, but also the recycling market, where different items are made from waste.
  • Zoma Museum - We will have lunch at Zoma museum, taking a rest from the loud and crowded city in the peaceful permaculture garden of the museum. False banana trees and different herbs together with a small urban farm give an impression of Ethiopian urban agriculture. Here we will also see how traditional Ethiopian food is prepared and get a chance to try it afterwards. More scents and tastes are touched with the following Ethiopian coffee ceremony, where coffee is roasted and prepared, while incense is burned on a traditional charcoal stove.
  • The Mausoleum of Menelik II - In the old Bata Mariam Church with its quite compound inhabited by giant turtles, you will not only find underground the tomb of Menelik II, the founder of Addis Ababa, but also the ones from other members of the former royal family together with an original painting Michelangelo.
  • National Museum of Ethiopia - In the National Museum of Ethiopia you will learn about the evolution of mankind with examples of our ancestors that were found in Ethiopia. With her 3.2 million years our mother Lucy is one of the most prominent ones.

Exciting city tour in Addis Ababa - I've had a great time with Pure Love Ethiopia on my short stay in Addis Ababa. Anteneh showed me all the city's highlights and also some hidden gems. Especially the tour through the national museum (where Lucy rests in peace) and the viewpoint from mount Entoto were amazing!

Trip to Addis-Ababa. When you don't have to worry about anything. - I went to Ethiopia this summer and was lucky to find a guide like Anteneh. In a couple of days we drove through the main landmarks of the city of Addis Ababa, tasted local cuisine, from fast food between museums, to national cuisine. We also went south for 1 day. The weather is rainy in July, I would have preferred a drier season, but the opportunity was only in July. A reliable driver in such a situation is very important. I was met at the airport, which is also very cool.

Best guide in Addis Ababa - My experience with Tour Guide Anteneh Sileshi was simply outstanding. I traveled solo to Addis Ababa, and Anteneh took great care in planning everything. He was extremely kind, helpful, and attentive, ensuring I had the best possible experience in the city. Anteneh not only crafted a tailored itinerary for me, but also arranged for a Spanish-speaking guide, which greatly facilitated communication throughout the trip. I highly recommend Anteneh to anyone looking to explore Addis Ababa comfortably and safely. He truly enhanced my travel experience.
