Fabulous Tour of Three Lakes Outside of Addis Ababa - This tour of three lakes—Debreziet, Hora and Bishoftu—was our second tour with Gashaw. I cannot say enough about how knowledgeable he is about Ethiopian history and culture, how fluent his English is and how thoughtful he is about taking memorable photos and being attuned to our pace. At our first stop at Lake Debreziet, we had traditional coffee and Gashaw was meticulous about taking us to all the best vantage points of the lake and explaining the origins of the crater lakes. At Lake Hora, we learned that the lake was used by the Oromo for spiritually cleansing rituals. Gashaw was very patient when one of us wanted to listen to the chanting at a nearby church. The last lake resort at Bishoftu had beautiful grounds that had a traditional feel. Gashaw’s plans included a terrific kayaking experience and a buffet lunch which was well worth the additional cost. We highly recommend this tour and have experienced Gashaw as an exemplary and delightful guide.

Best tour guide in Addis Adaba is Gashan - I did two day tours with Gashan (Bishoftu and Addis), and what amazing two days I had! I was amazed by Ethiopia. Ethiopia is authentic. In two days I felt I was able to see a lot in a short amount of time. I would definitely recommend to book Gashan as your guide. As a solo female European traveller I felt safe and respected all the time. Wish you all the best Gashan! Gashan knows a lot, and his English is good.

2 days in Adis Ababa - Gashaw did a good job taking us around and giving us a realistic tour of Adis Ababa. He was very patient and obliged to what we wanted to do vs. a set itinerary. On 2nd day we skipped the excursion to Debreziet and decided to spend more time in the city. Gashaw was knowledgeable about the history of Ethiopia and we enjoyed the visit to the National museum with him.

Breathtaking - I had a tour to Bishoftu and it was amazing. The tour was comfortable with a knowledgeable tour guide. I am glad I took out time to do the tour on my last day in Addis Ababa.

Perfect tour in Addis Ababa - It was my first time ever in Africa and in Ethiopia more in particular. I just had a 18 hours transit time. This could be an excellent opportunity to have some sightseeing, so I booked this tour via Viator. Guide Mr Hailu picked me up at the airport spot on time. While negotiating ourselves through the traffic jam of Addis Ababa, Mr Hailu kept on talking in a very interesting way about his city and his country. He is very knowledgeable and not a second boring. Nothing was to much for him and on my request we drove to the national telecom operator to buy a SIM card so that at least my office could reach me if there was something urgent. After driving to the busy city, he took us on one of the hills where we could have a very scenic view over the city and we got a bit immersed in the village life. Mr Hailu was so kind to leave the big road and drive through countryside to show the contrast. We also visited the National Museum. I had the impression that Mr Hailu must have been born there, cause he could talk about very object on display in a very interesting and entertaining way. It was not just a museum visit. It was an immersion in the culture of a beautiful an peaceful country and we were time travelling in the rich history of Ethiopia. Pity tripadvisor has only 5 stars to quote. This trip would have been rated a lot more ! Finally we went to a resort some 50 km out of the city at the side of a lake. There I could taste the delicious Ethiopian local dishes and ... of course, end with a cup of Ethiopian black gold : their excellent coffee. Pity my stay in Addis Ababa was rather short. I enjoyed every second of it !!!

Outstanding experience: Personalised, reliable, friendly - I had an outstanding experience in Addis and Debreziet with Aspire Ethiopia Tours and my guide Gashaw. I only had a few days in town and I looked for a personalised adventure that could show me around not as a tourist but as a local. I did this is two days. The highlight of the tour was a walk in Mercato through hundreds of small hallways and merchants - ranging from spices to metal workers. I have been there before during my first trip to this extraordinary country but the visit that the guide prepared for me and my friends took the experience to another level. I highly recommend it!
