Truly Great Experience - We visited Addis for a friend’s wedding, we did a large group tour with several stops and did a smaller group tour later in the trip where we visited the Mercado and some other shopping spots. On both tours we were with other guests who were attending the wedding as well. Both tours were phenomenal and the other wedding guests shared our sentiments. The tour guides were very knowledgeable of the history of the city/the country and selected very interesting stops. As mentioned after attending the large group tour we contacted the guides to do a smaller group tour to see the Mercado and do some shopping. Our guide was very flexible and customized the tour to exactly what we wanted; including meeting some pretty tight time restraints we had (he was able give us a great tour of the Mercado hitting the highlights in under an hour). He was very attentive and masterfully shepherded our group through the Mercado experience. Regarding the other shopping stops our guide ensured we all got exactly what we were looking for, one of the stops was a clothing shop where he assisted us all in selecting what we wanted and even helped negotiate fair prices where appropriate. We highly recommend this company and the guides. Thanks again :-)

A Highlight of Our Trip to Addis - Beki and Sisay took us up to the mountaintop of Entoto to make injera, eat a delicious homemade snack, and go for a little walk to a citywide vista of Addis Ababa. They were informative and fun guides, educating us about the history and geography of Addis and Ethiopia as a whole (in between some dancing). After some hard bargaining for a traditional shirt I wore to my friend’s wedding the next day and lunch at the oldest restaurant in Addis (where we learned about how tej — the traditional local honey wine — is made), we reached the Mercato, a massive outdoor market. Beki and Sisay took us through dozens of stalls, showing us a massive cross-section of the spices, cooking ingredients, and hodgepodge of items that people from all over Ethiopia come to buy. All along the way we learned about the history, culture, and economy of the market and Ethiopia as a whole. It was a really memorable experience. I was particularly peppering Sisay with questions for the entire market trip and he gamely answered. We had an epic week-long trip to Addis and the market tour was one of the most memorable highlights. Can’t recommend highly enough!

From the Eyes and Heart of Sisay! - Greetings to the World! I was blessed to be in Addis Ethiopia for a few days before I started my trip through southern Ethiopia. I contacted Sisay because I like to experience places from the eyes and heart of a person who knows and loves their home and Sisay did not disappoint. He showed and told me about Addis from his heart and I will never forget me experience in Addis.
