Adelaide River War Cemetery - The day begins with a visit to the Adelaide River War Cemetery, a poignant reminder of the region’s involvement in World War II and the significant events that took place.
Pine Creek - Next, we arrive in Pine Creek, a town steeped in gold mining history. We’ll pause at the old mine lookout to learn about the miners and their endeavors.
Edith Falls - Enjoy a refreshing swim and lunch at Edith Falls. After cooling off, we’ll head to Katherine Gorge to set up camp for the night.
Katherine Gorge and Mataranka Thermal Pool
Katherine - This morning, take in the breathtaking sights of Katherine Gorge. Choose between a relaxing cruise with a guided tour of the first and second gorges or grab a paddle to explore by canoe. If you opt for the canoe, you’ll take a boat to the second gorge and paddle at your own pace to the second and third gorges, stopping for a swim or to explore points of interest.
Mataranka Thermal Pool - In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the Mataranka Springs thermal pools for a refreshing dip before setting up camp in Elsey National Park.
Bitter Springs, Daly Waters, and Karlu Karlu-Devils Marbles
Daly Waters - Surprisingly, Daly Waters is home to Australia’s first international airfield, used for refueling commercial flights in the 1920s and 1930s. A visit to Daly Waters wouldn’t be complete without stopping at the famous outback pub for a look around and a drink if desired.
Alice Springs Telegraph Station
Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve - Journey to Alice Springs to visit the historic Telegraph Station, established in 1871. This site marks the first European settlement in the area and was crucial for relaying messages between Darwin and Adelaide along Australia’s Overland Telegraph Line. It connected Australian towns to the north and linked Australia to the British Empire’s undersea telegraph network.
Alice Springs - Visit the local lookout and stock up on supplies for the next leg of the adventure. There will be time to explore the mall, galleries, and more.
Ellery Creek Big Hole, Glen Helen, and Palm Valley
Ellery Creek Big Hole - Head towards the West MacDonnell Ranges, stopping at Ellery Creek Big Hole, where the creek has carved through the gorge over thousands of years, revealing fascinating geology.
Glen Helen - Next, visit Glen Helen Gorge, a stunning natural chasm offering a chance for a swim.
Palm Valley - In the afternoon, explore Palm Valley, named for its towering tropical palms. The area is characterized by red rock, sandy riverbeds, and native shrubs, and is home to diverse wildlife, including dingoes, goannas, kangaroos, snakes, and wallabies.
Kings Canyon
Kings Canyon - Start early to reach Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park. The main gorge plunges 270 meters (885 feet) to the canyon floor, with smaller gorges like the Garden of Eden along the way. The area is home to unique plants and animals, including rare cycads. Spend most of the day exploring the gorge before continuing to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - Rise early to witness the stunning sunrise over Uluru before embarking on the base walk. This is a wonderful opportunity to see Aboriginal rock art and cultural sites, with your guide providing insights into their significance to the Anangu people.
After the walk, take a short drive to Kata Tjuta, the park’s second major landmark. These impressive domed rocks offer a chance to explore up close, with your guide selecting the best walk based on conditions. Return to Uluru for sunset.

Oodnadatta, Painted Desert, and Coober Pedy
Oodnadatta - Travel to the outback town of Oodnadatta, known for recording Australia’s highest temperature of 50.7 degrees Celsius.
Detour through the Painted Desert to explore the impressive escarpment, where the natural colors are truly breathtaking.
Coober Pedy - Arrive in Coober Pedy for a guided tour of a working opal mine. Learn about the mining process and techniques for finding precious opals. After the tour, try your hand at fossicking for opals and visit the galleries. Restock supplies in town and explore more opal galleries.
After visiting Coober Pedy, admire the Dingo Fence, one of the world’s longest structures, stretching 5,614 kilometers. Set up camp in the station country.
Anna Creek Station, William Creek, Strangeway Springs, Blanche Cup, Coward Springs, and Lake Eyre
William Creek - Travel through Anna Creek Station, the world’s largest cattle station at 5,851,000 acres, before stopping at William Creek to see one of Australia’s most remote pubs.
Marree and Flinders Ranges National Park
Brachina Gorge Geological Trail - Discover the ancient and rugged landscapes of Brachina Gorge, a highlight of Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. Learn about the geology, wildlife, and cultural heritage of this iconic destination.
Flinders Ranges National Park and Quorn
Wilpena Pound - Explore the southern parts of the Flinders Ranges, crossing the steep slopes of Razorback Ridge and exploring the walks around Wilpena Pound, a natural amphitheater surrounded by the Flinders Ranges. Visit an Adnyamthanha painting and ceremonial site to learn about the local indigenous culture.
Quorn - Continue towards Adelaide, passing through the historic town of Quorn, the original starting point of the old Ghan railway line. Travel through the scenic Pichi Richi Pass before reaching Adelaide. The tour concludes at a central meeting point in the town center, allowing everyone to proceed to their accommodations.
