Unforgettable day trip into Australia’s stunning natural beauty - Our journey began with an early morning pick-up, and right from the start, it was clear that this tour was well-organized and thoughtfully designed. Stopping at Edith Falls for a refreshing swim. The cool, clear waters of the falls were the perfect antidote to the warm day. The highlight of the day was the Katherine Gorge cruise. We were treated to breathtaking views of the gorge’s towering cliffs and tranquil surroundings. The guide’s informative commentary enhanced the experience, providing fascinating details about the gorge’s geology and its significance to the traditional owners of the land. Overall, the Katherine Gorge day trip was a perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and learning. The combination of the gorge cruise, swim at Edith Falls, the war cemetery and a delicious lunch made for an exceptional experience. The well-informed guide and the seamless organization of the tour ensured that every moment was enjoyable and stress-free.

Katherine Gorge and oh so much more - Adelaide River, Edith Falls, good food and crocodile spotting. - Bus Driver Libby provided wonderful local insights throughout the journey, making our tour memorable and enjoyable with her off-the-cuff humour adding to the fun, not to mention her skillful driving.

A tour worth doing - While it is a long day with many hours spent on the bus, the tour is well worth the effort. The driver/guide kept us well entertained and informed. The visit to the Adelaide River war cemetery highlighted the WWII involvement. The high point of the tour is, of course, the Katherine Gorge cruise. Its majesty can be truly appreciated. The provided buffet lunch was of a high quality; however, the options for "dinner" at the final stop in Adelaide River were disappointing.

Beautiful Kathrine Gorge - People should know this is a very long day before they book. The coach was very comfortable & quite luxurious, so that helped with the long drive. Shawn, our driver & captain for the day was very informative and spoke about interesting things along the way. Edith Falls was a lovely place for a very quick dip & a drink. The lunch buffet was delicious & plentiful too! Katherine Gorge itself was stunning. The boat ride was very enjoyable & we saw a few freshwater crocs. This tour was worth doing & we enjoyed it very much. Please read the description carefully & look at a map to decide for yourself if you can go the distance! Highly recommended.

Alternative Adult Trips - Some tours on large group buses appeal to many but this trip was not worth the cost nor the time Katherine and the gorge is a long drive from Darwin leaving at 6.15 am and returning at 9 pm. For such a drive the tour needed music or animated commentary. We got neither While our guide Warren was pleasant he was beige. The driver Roman was excellent. However a large bus half full with different nationalities deserved more details than pre written summaries Without being too critical it was as if the guide had a job to do and it would get done. No animation in describing the road in and missing detail on a number of interesting sights along the journey Only one swimming stop and a gorge cruise cut short when 2 hours was promised. Casey the boat guide was fine , a local but the only one we heard from I would strongly suggest taking a small group tour as most on the large bus slept on the journey , which anyone can do in their hotel AAT Kings needs to revamp its itinerary , hand out history of Darwin sheets , play some music to keep us awake and chose stopping spots better than twice at Adelaide river there and back.

Long commute - Beautiful Katherine Gorge - Katherine Gorge + cruise of two gorges is memorable + beautiful. Edith Falls, particularly for the swimmers, is refreshing + scenic. The war cemetary was poignant + interesting. Buffet lunch excellent. Coffee-tea-food breaks morning + afternoon were a bit ordinary 6am pickup from the hotel + 8.50pm return. Approximately 15 hours not including the taxi to the pick-up point. For a day tour it is an extremely long time in the bus for relatively short time at stops + exhausting. But if you want to see Katherine Gorge + do not have your own transport the tours offer the opportunity to do so.
