We all behaved in with our bums on seat bus! Fun and good memory of excursion - We selected this excursion as we arrived on Port with ovation of the sea cruise, and our driver is parked just as you come off the port terminal. Driver went through the city and the whole trip he was very informative with what we were seeing . The bus was full and the trip was good . I m not the best passenger in a car or bus ,but he drove safely and slow which I liked . We visited the German little town handhorf, and the whole street both side is full of shops. It has cafes , pubs , lots of food and many variety shops . If you want to buy a cookoo clock ,one shop has so many various styles to buy . Great little town to visit. Our last stop before returning to Port was (Beerenberg) where you can pick your own strawberry ( but we did not have time for this, but lots of jams to buy. I bought 2 jars of fig and cinnamon jam . Yum! We really enjoyed the whole experience ,thank you to our driver for making it a memorable day. Veronique

Friendly but not impressed. - The 3 stars are more for the half day format than the team. The Adelaide highlight part is not necessary at all, even useless and time consuming. Bus is just going round and round in the city showing you things you can easily see by yourself by walking, tram or bus. As it is not even stoping for explanations or pictures its even making people who were actually interessed frustrated. So on either part not a good thing. They really should cancel this part of the tour. Instead it should go straight to Mont lofty and hanhdorf because as said in previous commentaries you do not have enough time to fully enjoy it . 2 hours are Ok too have lunch (not too long) and go back and forth the main street. No more. Otherwise organisation, communication, and professionnalism of the team is good.

Good, could be better - The upside.. The day started out well, we had a lovely car pick us up from the hotel, the driver/guide was very friendly, we were only a group of 4, which was ideal. The tour around the city was informative and the view from Mt Lofty was amazing. The downside.. I was super excited to visit the German town of Hahndorf, when we got there we were advised we had under 2 hours to look around, and had to be back even earlier for the morning tea we had paid for. Just to note, this wasn't the driver/guides fault, it was the type of tour we took.. We were rushed and didn't see most of the town, I wanted to take in the morning tea sat in the venue and take it all in, but we ended up getting take out and eating in the car. My view... knock the city tour on the head and spend more time at Hahndorf. Or do a separate tour just for Hahndorf. I gave 3 stars just for the driver/guide.

Take the Bus - The driver needs to have more information on the history and be able to answer questions about the surrounding area when asked. He was very accommodating about time .

Sights fine; pick another tour company. - On time pickup at the cruise ship terminal. Right away it became apparent that the guide (AP) was going to be a problem. He seemed like a nice guy but his accent was pronounced and he spoke to the front seat passenger rather than the other 7 passengers. He said the van had a microphone but that it was not working. Only occasionally did he speak to the entire group; he never did ask if everyone could hear him. He pointed out some landmarks in the city but didn't provide much history. No mention was made of modern life in Adelaide (industry, health care, etc.). Stops at Mt Lofty and Hahndorf were enjoyable. On arrival back at the terminal, we were informed that there was an additional charge of $40 AUD for the pickup there. We weren't notified of this charge previously. We've done probably a couple of hundred shore excursions (at least); this was certainly in the bottom five or ten. NOT recommended.
