• Clare Valley - After a big morning, we visit the beautiful Skillogalee restaurant and winery where you can indulge in a gourmet lunch is under the olive groves (a main meal and a glass of wine per person).

After lunch, and if time permits, we travel next door to taste the fine wines of Kilikanoon Wines with winemaker, Kevin Mitchell.

• Taylors Wines - Our first stop is in the quaint town of Auburn, with heritage listed stone buildings and cellar doors. We taste the products of the small winemakers of the Clare Valley, wander through the local antique shops and indulge in morning tea.

• Seed Clare Valley - Next stop is Seed Restaurant, a fantastic choice for a celebration dining experience in the heart of Clare Valley. It’s known for its charming ambiance and excellent food offerings.

• Sevenhill Cellars - We are then off to visit the Sevenhill Cellars, run by the Jesuit Brothers. Sevenhill was the first winery in the Clare Valley and is today one of the country’s oldest wineries. Visit the old stone winery and cellar door, St Aloysius’ Church, spacious gardens and taste some of the most highly regarded wines in both Australia and overseas.

• Pikes Wines - Pikes Wines is another notable winery in the Clare Valley region of South Australia and is particularly known for its Riesling, which thrives in the region’s cool climate and limestone-rich soils.

We begin our journey in the charming town of Auburn, known for its heritage-listed stone structures and cellar doors. We sample artisanal wines from Clare Valley’s smaller vineyards, browse curated collections in local antique shops, and enjoy a delicious morning tea.

Our itinerary also includes a visit to Mintaro, a town steeped in history. Explore its historical landmarks— a pub, a post office and various shops — or tour the Georgian-inspired Martindale Hall, an 1880’s sandstone mansion.

Next, we head to Sevenhill Cellars, the birthplace of Clare Valley’s winemaking tradition, and one of Australia’s oldest wineries. Experience their traditional stone winery and cellar door, wander around the lush gardens, and sample some of their internationally acclaimed wines.

Our lunch stop is the enchanting Skillogalee restaurant, where we dine under olive groves and enjoy a main dish and a glass of wine. Time allowing, we will also pay a visit to Kilikanoon Wines for a taste of their exquisite wines.

We finish our day with an afternoon tea at the venerable Kapunda Hotel before heading back to Adelaide.
