Day 1: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island

Adelaide Central Bus Station Franklin St - Start your day early to catch the SeaLink bus from Adelaide CBD to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis.

Cape Jervis - Embark on a 45-minute ferry ride to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Your Untamed Escapes Guide will greet you and provide an overview of the exciting days ahead.

Pennington Bay - Board the bus for a scenic coastal drive to Pennington Bay on the island’s south coast. Known for its impressive surf breaks, this beach is a surfer’s paradise. Climb the 500 steps to the top of Prospect Hill, the highest point on Kangaroo Island, for breathtaking views and orientation.

Clifford’s Honey Farm - Kangaroo Island is the world’s oldest bee sanctuary, home to the only pure strain of Ligurian Bee. Visit Clifford’s Honey to learn about these fascinating creatures and enjoy a tasting.

Dudley Wines - Visit the family-owned Dudley Wines, where you can relax on their lush lawns and enjoy stunning ocean views – a perfect spot to unwind and connect with fellow travelers.

Antechamber Bay - In the late afternoon, arrive at the eco-campsite, aptly named “Happiness”. With private access to one of Kangaroo Island’s most beautiful beaches – Antechamber Bay, you’ll feel right at home for the next two nights. Enjoy some free time to relax or take a stroll to the beach.

Kangaroo Island

Flinders Chase National Park - Today, head to the iconic Flinders Chase National Park, located at the island’s northwestern tip. This park is famous for its rock formations, stunning beaches, and diverse wildlife.

At Admirals Arch, walk along a boardwalk, enjoying the tranquility and watching for resident New Zealand fur seals. Be amazed by the Remarkable Rocks, sculpted by nature over 500 million years. Enjoy a bush walk at Weirs Cove before a picnic lunch to recharge.

Seal Bay Conservation Park - After lunch, experience an incredible wildlife encounter. Seal Bay hosts the third-largest colony of endangered Australian sea lions, with around 800 residing there. Join a 45-minute tour with National Parks & Wildlife guides, who are experts on these magnificent creatures. Follow a boardwalk through the dunes to the beach, passing sea lions resting or even lying on the beach path, and learn about conservation efforts to protect this endangered species.

Antechamber Bay - After a full day, return to camp to relax over dinner before sleeping under the stars.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide

Kangaroo Island - Start your final tour day with a refreshing morning bush walk near camp before packing up and saying goodbye to Happiness. Then, explore the history of South Australia’s first lighthouse at Cape Willoughby before heading to magical Emu Bay for a walk and beach clean-up.

Kangaroo Island - Today, choose to swim with wild dolphins or seals on a two-hour tour with Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari. This optional experience offers a rare chance to connect with nature in its purest form, guided by passionate marine experts who ensure a safe, respectful, and awe-inspiring encounter. Whether you’re an experienced snorkeler or a beginner, this is a must-do for wildlife enthusiasts seeking adventure.

Those not snorkeling will embark on the Ironstone Hill hike, winding through regenerating sheoak woodlands and enjoying spectacular coastal views rich in history.

Kangaroo Island - After an unforgettable Kangaroo Island adventure, arrive in Penneshaw for your 5:30 pm ferry back to the mainland. Once in Cape Jervis, your SeaLink bus will return you to Adelaide by 9:00 pm.
