Camping on Kangaroo Island is good fun - Eli was our guide and did a great job of ensuring we were well taken care of. He knew the area well and was enthusiastic. The views were great. The kangaroos and seals and sea lions were fun to see. Accommodations were rustic, sleeping in swags, which were perfect for the setting. Warm showers, toilets and good sized meals were included. Great friends made as well.

Grandiose journey - we have seen many many animals on Kangoroo Island : Countless kangaroos, some of which hopped right past the camp, koalas free in nature, an iguana, sea lions at Seal bay, many geese, pelicans, cormorants and many other numerous bird species. Really great! and also the places we visited were great. The super great winery, the impressive coastal landscapes , the places in the country. The camp is simple but it is a good experience sleeping in the swags. The food during the trip was simple but still varied. I liked the barbecue on the first night with kangaroo skewers, lamb sausages and vegan alternatives the best. Also the vegan pancakes that were available for breakfast on the third day were top! Overall a great, recommended trip. The experience was only clouded by two fellow travellers who were fundamentally negative towards everything - and for the most part unjustified. And Giana, as an always friendly guide with great expertise, could not change that.

Fantastic introduction to Kangaroo Island - My friend and I had a fantastic time on this three day tour! We saw wild kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, sea lions, and geckos - and we were lucky enough to see an echidna, too. The stops were all enjoyable and there was a pleasant amount of walking involved. Our guide, Gianna, was as personable as she was professional and catered expertly to every tourgoer's needs. Recommended, especially for those who have never been to Kangaroo Island before!

More than just recommended - an absolute highlight - We saw a lot of animals. My highlights were the visit to the seal colony and the one with the volunteers at a rescue center for injured animals, where we were able to feed young kangaroos. But the koalas, where we stopped on a tip, and the echidna that crossed the road on the day of our arrival were also absolutely amazing. On our trip, the tour guide had just finished training his successor. This meant that we had two tour guides, both of whom were more than average and provided an unforgettable experience and additional information. If I had six stars to give, I would give six.

Nature, wildlife pure! Highly recommended - Can highly recommend. Was nervous about the swags, but perfectly fine and safe on an private camp site. Our guide Gianna did an amazing job. Safe driving, watching out for us to drink enough and not forget sunscreen. It was a fun group. We saw lots of wildlife which I loved, as I was hoping for that. Took nice beach swims as well. And even a flat tire Gianna handled so well, I was impressed.

So many experiences packed in three days! - What an amazing trip! From beginning to end, I was impressed by Untamed Escapes. The people in the booking office were great, responding promptly to all of my queries and it felt like they truly cared about their customers. Our guide, Brendan, was superb! He was energetic, knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He added personalized touches that made the trip feel quite unique and memorable. It felt like we were one big family, participating in setups and meal preparations. We saw multiple animals and took in many beautiful sites. Sleeping amongst the stars in our swags was certainly a different experience, but one that I am more than glad I did. Would highly recommend the tour!

Not much of an Adventure tour - It was ok, Tour says adventure tour however there wasn’t much adventure, mainly visited gift shops which was pretty boring specially for people who is traveling last thing we want is buy extra stuff and smell candles, only one that should be kept on the tour is the winery, the seals and remarkable rocks definitely a highlight, but that’s it, remove all the gift shops from the tour and include more wildlife and actual adventures like hikes, felt like we were just driving for ages to go from shop to shop, which is pretty tiring, couldn’t do the volunteering so should have a back up plan for it too, food was good, just the house toilet has a really bad smell so that should be sort out too.

Experience not to be repeated - The sites visited are interesting, but do not expect, at least in September, to meet many animals. In 3 days we saw a dozen kangaroos, 3 coals, 1 iguana, many seals in the reserves, and various types of birds. No sign of dolphins and whales. What we have seen can be condensed into 1 day. Accommodation is at least spartan, although the agency specified it. The area where you eat, especially the kitchen, lack cleanliness. Our Guide, Mrs. Gianna, with the excuse of saving water, and not wasting food, gave no alternative to the menu you set. In the two breakfasts made, the first only corn flakes and muesli, and because requested bread in insufficient quantity, the second pancake, and only at our request, unkindly pulled out, a pack of corn flakes. In the two dinners made, the first abundant mashed potatoes, but also made with the skins, and a kangaroo head skewer, for my wife tofu, plus a sausage each, Overall an insufficient amount. No bread because rationed. The second night soup with overcooked pasta, and bad quality vinegar in abundance, and not even 2 slices of toasted bread per head.In the end we were given 2 cookies each made by the Guide. The first lunch was the best, as the following were mainly leftovers from the night before, with some additions of fresh vegetables. The third lunch had as main course the soup of the previous evening, which was inedible even hot, too bad that it was proposed cold, and the purée of two nights before. The refrigerator seemed well stocked, but probably the food was meant for others. There were some kind of piadine, 1 garlic and 1 unspecified herbs..... The first 2 days there was fruit, then finished, and snacks. The bus carrying us, which was very reminiscent of the Cuban school buses of the 1950s, was poorly cleaned and worn. Dishes for 6 at lunch were washed by participants in a basin of dubious cleanliness, and dried with a tea towel that was used for many other purposes..... If adventure means lack of hygiene this is the perfect tour!!! Overall an experience that we strongly advise against.
