Amazing tour combines remote coast, rural villages, dunes, mountains, wild birds, traditional food and camels. For adults and ol - Said, our 4x4 driver and tour guide spoke good English and was very friendly and attentive. The car was modern and clean. The 8 hour tour took in many natural sites and traditional culture. The highlights for us were: the pottery where our teenage children helped make pots on the potter's wheel, the fisherman's cave built into the cliff side where we had mint tea and snacks overlooking the sea, the drive over the Saharan sand dunes and the camel ride (100dh extra per camel), the tagine lunch in the home of a Berber family, the drive into the Atlas mountains to overlook a dam with amazing views, and being April we were able to see flamingoes.

South of Agadir and lunch: sorted! - Our first tour with agadir excursions, I’ve given it 5 stars as our driver Syed, included Tiznit on the tour as another passenger had paid for this to be included. Our driver/guide Syed was prompt, friendly and attentive to our needs. We headed off firstly for a stop at the river opposite the National park, by the entrance of the King’s beach palace, slightly underwhelming, but this tour doesn’t include the National park, as it states. We then drove in proximity to the park, very interesting flora with eucalyptus trees, then to the beach cliffs where we parked and went down and into a fisherman’s cosy bothy, welcomed with mint tea and snacks, photos taken of the fisherfolk, and women hunting mussels, then back on the road. En route to Tiznit we stopped at a scenic river view, before arriving in Tiznit, Syed let us roam around, then guided into a jewellers (every tour has a sponsored shop where you stop and are invited in, all part of any tour here, you don’t have to buy anything), then a wander around the abandoned kasbah within the medina walls. Next we headed out towards the mountains, stopping at a village for our lunch, we were invited in (hands washed, footwear off) to sit on pillows at low tables (with other groups doing the same tour) for a delicious shared chicken tagine with bread followed by a couscous dessert, drinks you had to pay for (10MAD for water for example), the hosts were jovial and fun, with clean toilet facilities. Next stop the mini Sahara desert, five minutes from our lunch venue - now we knew it wouldn’t be the proper Sahara desert of course, but slightly disappointed by Syed insisting it was a proper desert, it was just a sandy area with a few low dunes and camel rides, but sort of sufficed for a photo opportunity (see photos). Next we stopped at the top of the dam as advertised which was very panoramic, Syed explained the irrigation systems and you could see the irrigation channels along the roads, very impressive. Our last stop on the way home was at a pottery shop on the main road, fascinating to watch the pots being made and painted, but no hard sell. Safely returned to the hotel after a good 9 and a half hours, so very happy with our money’s worth. Definitely our best tour to date in Morocco, but as a caveat all the tour companies seem to do the same routes so can’t compare prices and experience, but can recommend Agadir Excursions for this particular trip.
