Dubbed as the ‘Morocco’s Miami’, Agadir is a contemporary destination brimming with vibrant nightlife, varied dining options, opportunities for golf and horse-riding, sun-soaked beaches, exciting water activities, and views of the historic kasbah. Despite its name deriving from a 16th-century fortress located on a nearby hill, the city of Agadir was designed as a resort around its picturesque sandy bay. Its modern architectural style, spacious, tree-canopied avenues, public squares and pedestrian zones offer a stark contrast to the narrow lanes of an ordinary Moroccan town. Anchored by the retail hub of Place du Prince Sidi Mohammed, the city’s downtown is always buzzing. Agadir’s new Marina, adorned with boutique stores, eateries and apartments, is an attraction in its own right. A chain of low-rise hotels creates a separation between the city centre and Agadir’s stunning 10km (nearly 6 miles) long beach. The beach hosts an array of activities such as windsurfing and sailing.
