On the way we stop for a few moments to watch the goats climbing the argan trees… The path takes us past endless orange groves. Taroudant is a Berber town and was the former capital of the Saadian dynasty before it became Marrakesh. In Taroudant we visit the Berber souk to admire the work of the local craftsmen. We then continue through the town, which is surrounded by a mighty 8 km long wall. We end our visit to Taroudant with a visit to the old palace of Sultan Salam from the 16th century, a cool building… More information about Agadir Countryside & People + Goat Tree Tour - https://www.viator.com/de-DE/tours/Agadir/taroudante-tioute/d4383-183104P2?mcid=56757
- Tiout - Tiout For lunch we drive to the village of Tiout to stay with a local resident. Lunch consists of tagine, Moroccan couscous, fresh fruit and of course our national drink “Nana”, fresh mint tea. After lunch we take a digestive walk or take a donkey (Berber taxi) to visit a palm grove that protects a large date palm plantation. Afterwards we visit the Kasbah of Tiout. Some parts of the film Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves were filmed here in 1954. (Directed by Fenandel) On the way back to Agadir we take a different route to see other landscapes…
- Kasbah of Tiout - From the top of its natural promontory, the Kasbah stands out, offering a breathtaking view of the magnificent green oasis. Its magnificent remains can still be seen there, testifying to its importance in the Saadian period. This same privileged location is also used by a panoramic restaurant behind the ruins, which serves delicious cuisine.
