Good day trip - Travelling from Ammoudara meant there was quite a lot of time spent on the coach but it was cool, comfortable and a good way to see things. Agios Nikolaos was very nice with good photo opportunities, places to eat and shop. We then went to Elounda which was extremely hot so we only walked a little and relaxed with a drink. Next was a boat trip to Spinalonga which was very interesting and well worth a visit . On the way back the boat stopped so we could swim in the sea. A really enjoyable day.

Fabulous trip and crystal clear waters - We booked this trip with Sealands travel agents down at the harbour in Hersonissos and saved ourselves 40 Euro for the same trip with Tui. The pick up by coach was from our hotel and the guide was so lovely and spoke English, French and German. Her name was Janet and I think she was Dutch. We first went to Elouda where we boarded a boat and went over to Spinalonga island where our guide took us around for about 20 mins with a very interesting talk. He was an older gentleman I didn't catch his name but he actually new some of the residents of the island who had leprosy and it added another level to his talk. After the talk we had 1 hr free time to discover the sights or sit in the shade then back on the boat. A mooring near some rocks and the locals cooked BBQ pork and we had a lovely salad, fruit and glass of wine freshly prepared by our crew then jumping off the boat and swimming in the crystal clear waters for a couple of hours. Next back to Elouda on the coach to Agio Nikolas where we had 2 hrs free time to explore the lake and shops. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and the guides were amazing, thank you.

Spinalonga- our recent past. - The pick-up service was reliable & very well planned. Our guide was most friendly & informative. The time spent in each of the three places visited was very good and did not feel rushed. Spinalonga Island was the highlight with a tangible, modern real-life history in this ancient land. Well done Victoria Hislop for bringing modern Greek history to life at Spinalonga through your well researched historical novel, The Island, hence contributing greatly to tourism in Crete.

Spinalonga and two town visit - We made the decision to use Altino travel instead of the TUI day tour as this was better value and we could chose our own food instead of a set included lunch plus this one offered longer on Spinalonga island. The trip was very well organised pick up on time from outside our hotel in Amoudara and onto the first stop if Agios Nikalos. The town was nice lots to see in the alloted time great frozen yoghurt place in town centre and loads of cafes etc. We took a wander round the beach and looked at the costal sculptures very good views as well. Onto the village of Elounda for lunch again loads of sea front places. We had a xl pizza massive Greek salad between 4 including two bottles of water less than 30 euros good value. Beach here is great way to cool off quick and decent freshwater shower after. Onto the boat and away to Spinalonga island. Lovely boat trip very scenic on route and landed on Island. The Island is very interesting as it is hot if you take a dip watch for spinney sea urchins they are everywhere. History interesting all houses and forts and amazing views. Enough time to go right round. If you go in the church in the village cover up and take off headgear the lady that supervised it is very hot on that and will leave you in no doubt about what you need to do! Could do with 2 hours on the Island really to make it a slower paced visit but we did it all in the time. Take your own water as little for sale there and expensive. Back on the boat and half way back it stops for a swim in deep water. Really was a bonus part of the day very refreshing and needed. Back to Elounda and back on coach the trip back was quicker back at hotel for about 6pm. Brilliant day out and at 135 pounds for the 4 of us good value and affordable compared to tour operators same itinerary albeit thier has a included lunch. Would definitely recommend the guide was knowledgeable and gave great details about the sites and on route in several languages coach was comfortable as well although they don't expect you to eat on board which is fair enough as not everyone leave anywhere clean as we witnessed with the rubbish some left behind ! Book this you won't be disappointed for the money.

Spinalonga Island - Firstly, on my booking it stated our meeting place was our hotel, didn’t say where at our hotel, assuming it would be reception area. But having looked closer at the map, it appeared it was the car park of the hotel next door which I feel the information is not clear and should state where your meeting place is exactly not say one thing and then when you look closer be at another place. It was a good job we set out earlier. Also we were informed that our first I k-up time was 8 am but again when you go into the App to contact your guid, there was a message to state pick up time 8.20 am. The only reason I saw this was due to trying to contact the tour guide to confirm exactly which point is the meeting place but hadn’t received a text message to state 8.20 am which would have been useful. This trip was a long day but was lovely to visit 2 different places on the way to Spinalonga Island and was a nice touch to be able to stop and jump off the boat for a swim for 10 minutes, which was very welcome and refreshing after being out in the 37C heat all day. The down side was picking everyone up on the way and then dropping them back off which made it a really long day for us being 10 hours. I wish there was more time in Elounda where we could have spent longer on the beach or touring the area a little more. We were given an hour and half and it wasn’t much time to do anything of substance. But nevertheless we had a lovely day. However, a little frantic on the way back as the tour guide informed us that we would be transferring to a mini van during our journey home and were informed one would be waiting for us and then we would be taken back to our hotel. But our tour guide during our journey back was informed that one hadn’t been ordered but our tour guide managed to rectify this and we were transferred into a mini van which he had organised so all worked out well in the end.

Nice excursion to discover a little more Crete and its history. - Organisation transfer top 👌, our great Mikael guide. Well thought out route, stops neither too long nor too short and the bus route between the different points was correct. Because very comfortable. We discovered beautiful little places. The boat ride always remains pleasant with the small jump of the boat to refresh. I enjoyed bypassing the island of Spinalonga with comments on its history. However, I see no point in stopping there to "visit" the ruins under a blazing sun. For my part, you can see much better of the boat by going around. If vs do not want to venture uphill, opt for swimming, the water is transparent but to enter it is difficult between big pebbles and sea urchins. I would have preferred an extra stop (for example a dinner planned in a very typical place) than to stop on the island. The most beautiful to see of the excursion... "Lake" as they call it over there. Overall very nice day. Before boarding, you have time to eat. I recommend eating at Fresco a crazy gyros on a small terrace very nice overlooking the sea and a boss at the top who manages well in French and really very nice.
