Highly recommended boat tour - The Avanti tour was a great experience and a must- do. The guides were extremely friendly, and the sites along the way were beautiful. The bay that you stop off in is a real highlight.

An unforgettable crossing! - A very nice experience on a very nice sailboat with a very friendly crew and care. We were 9 people in total and this small number is very nice. The landscape is beautiful and everything is done to have a great time. The meal served on board is also excellent. Many thanks for this unforgettable experience.

An unforgettable sailing trip! - Excellent sailing trip! Small group of up to 8 people, which makes the experience very pleasant. The skippers Yannis and Andronikos are super friendly and welcoming. The meals and drinks on board are great. The scenery is beautiful and the stops for diving in crystal clear water are unforgettable. Paddle and snorkelling equipment available, it was really great. I highly recommend!

Relaxing boat trip - This sail boat takes you on a trip around the northern part of Mirabello Bay. You will pass by Spinalonga island, featuring Venetian buildings that used to make up a former leper colony, and then the boat drops anchor in Kolokitha Bay. While in the bay, you will have the option to swim, paddle board, snorkel, or simply sunbathe on the boat. I wanted to relax so I opted for the latter. Lunch is provided, which exceeded my expectations, and consisted of cheesy pasta with apaki (Cretan pork) and Greek salad, followed by a dessert of sliced fresh fruit. Our captain, Gianni, and crew member Andronicus were both friendly, helpful and professional throughout the trip. There were 10 passengers in total, which made the boat feel a bit cramped to start with, however after we were able to spread out it felt spacious enough. There’s one part of the journey that gets very windy but it doesn’t last for very long - perhaps 10 minutes. As we returned to Agios Nikolaos port, I realised when watching our crew that it’s hard work to sail a boat and I was glad I got to sit back and let someone else do it! We spent a very pleasant day basking in the brilliant Cretan sun and I would recommend it.

Boat not working, and no sailing in spite of good weather - Me and my wife signed up for ”whole-day sailing trip” with Avanti sailing from Agios Nikolaos. But there was no sailing. In the morning there was a faint breeze from north-east. Not impossible to sail in, but the decision was to go up Spinalonga against the wind. Ok, so then we would have the wind with us back. On the way back there was a good wind of 7-9 m/s, still from north-east. The captain steered back by motor. When asked why not set sail he came up with all kinds of excuses, but eventually raised the main sail, half way up the mast. It was in storm position. He also kept the sail parallel to the boat although we were going with the wind. The captain actually tried to fake the sailing. When asked why he wouldn’t set the full sails he took out the genua, but didn’t manage to set the main sail to the top. The storm position rope got stuck and he couldn’t fix it. The captain may have known this which would explain the reluctance to set sails. At no point were the sails fully set or the motor turned off. Since this is presented and priced as a sailing boat excursion we don’t think that this is acceptable. There are many other options for motor boat trips in the area. We actually tried to get half the fee back, but to no avail.
