Constructed from red sandstone, the fort features several impressive structures and is entered through two main gates: the Delhi Gate and the Amar Singh Gate.
• Fatehpur Sikri - Afterwards, travel to Fatehpur Sikri, a magnificent fortified ancient city situated 40 kilometers west of Agra. This short-lived capital of the Mughal Empire served as Emperor Akbar’s seat from 1572 to 1585. Akbar visited the village of Sikri to seek the blessings of the Sufi Saint Shaikh Salim Chishti, who predicted the birth of an heir to the Mughal throne.
