Cusco – Chachabamba – Wiñay Wayna – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes

Chachabamba - We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and head to Ollantaytambo by van, where we will take a train to Km 104, exclusively for Inca Trail hikers, located 20 minutes before Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu. Upon disembarking, we will encounter the mountain cloud forest and the Urubamba River. We will cross a bridge to reach the first checkpoint, where we will verify our permits and passports. We will visit the archaeological site of Chachabamba (2,170 m / 7,170 ft), a ceremonial place with enigmatic carvings. After admiring these remarkable buildings, we will climb the mountain for 3 hours to see an impressive natural formation.

Winay Wayna - We continue along the Inca Trail to Wiñayhuayna, an impressive archaeological site with terraces, fountains, and ceremonial buildings. Its Quechua name means “forever young” and offers stunning views of the Urubamba River valley. Exploring takes about 30 mins, admiring Inca architecture blending with nature. Then, we head to the classic four-day trekker campsite for our box lunch, this place is surrounded by Andean vegetation and panoramic views. Wiñayhuayna is another checkpoint, leading to the Peruvian plain and the majestic Sun Gate, or Inti Punku. This stretch is easier, allowing us to savor the landscape before the breathtaking Machu Picchu finale.

Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Machu Picchu - After a delicious breakfast, we took the bus to see Machu Picchu again. Being at our destination, today is the day to get to know a vibrant culture in the Andes Mountains of Peru, an Inca City high in the clouds, the Machu Picchu Archaeological Site, built with Granite Rock that appears to be an Inca City of White Stone. You will have a Guided Walk for 2.5 hours with your expert Mountain Guide. If you choose to hike an additional mountain, after the guided walk, you will have an additional hike to Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain. Bus descent to Machu Picchu town. You can have coffee, water, lunch, pisco sour, beer, whatever you need while waiting to take your train back to Poroy train station or Ollantaytambo train station. In both cases, we pick you up from the Train station towards CUSCO. We drop you off at your Hotel.
