- Chalkie’s Beach - Known to locals as Whitehaven’s little brother, Chalkies beach is directly across from Whitehaven Beach on Haslewood Island and has the same sand as Whitehaven Beach. This is where we snorkel 80% of the time, if you do not wish to snorkel you can spend the time on the beach and exploring the lookout over coral reefs (see pictures)
- Coral Sea Marina - This is the start and return point of the day tour. ZigZag Whitsundays Day Tour meets at meeting point B. Car parking is an extra cost (pay and display)

Every day, the ZigZag Whitsundays Day Tour commences from Coral Sea Marina, situated in Airlie Beach Queensland 4802. On this tour, the boat, which comfortably seats a maximum of 30 passengers, sets out to explore several locations including Whitehaven Beach, South Whitehaven Beach, Chalkies Beach, and the Haslewood Island Lookout (with a view over coral reefs), also incorporating one snorkeling location.
The ZigZag Whitsundays vessel is an open, fast boat (1200HP) that features a shade-providing roof and is unique in its offering of high-back padded seats. This new addition ensures a smooth journey for all occupants, minimising seasickness and maximising comfort and safety - it’s catered to tourists of varying ages and adventure experiences.
Onboard, you’ll have the chance to snorkel in bays abundant with coral and tropical fish - keep an eyes open for a turtle!

Meeting point is at end of Shingly drive by the roundabout. Look for white umbrellas and a small cafe. Our crew will be opposite the cafe at 7.45 am with a ZigZag Sign.

Highly recommended - This was a terrific day out. Casey,Fiona and Lydia were so helpful, and very funny. The reef we snorkelled on was beautiful. I don't like to snorkel, I always gulp in water, but being able to use a noodle made me really feel at ease. The coral, the beaches, the walks, the lunch, the staff, all made it a great day.

Great day out for the family at the Whit Sundays - We had a lovely day out with Zigzag. All their staff put a huge effort into making sure everyone had a good time on the day. The snorkelling was excellent, beatiful coral and sea life. The food was good and would very much recommend a day out with this company. The prices were very competitive as well.

Fun day in the most beautiful place in the world - These guys (Fi, Casey, Anna and the font of all knowledge Oak) are brilliant just what you want for taking you out for a day trip, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and felt well looked after. Even got to taste some citrus tree ants! If you go at and Oak is on crew, ask him about the aboriginal history and culture of the ngaro people, that'll keep you busy, but extremely interesting. Anyway we thoroughly recommend.

Snorkel swim and survey the beauty of the Whitsundays - This was such a well organised and considered trip with the best fun filled and upbeat crew to enhance the whole experience. The beauty of the Whitsundays and the absolute bonus of seeing so many whales and a huge turtle just made the whole things memorable. If I could give a 5star-plus I would.
Thanks to the team Fi Geordie Oak and Jossiah- a great crew- thanks ZigZag tours. A second honeymoon to remember!

Really recommend this wonderful tour! - Great tour, did some of the best snorkelling I’ve ever done and loved the stops at the beaches in the afternoon.

Nice day out - We had a nice day on the water with ZigZag. The equipment for snorkeling is very good and it was an organized tour. The team were nice and interactive. The description is misleading as we only stopped 3 times which 2 times was the same spot. When there was wildlife the crew seemed to get in the way of guests view for their own enjoyment which seemed unfair since we were the paying customers. Lunch was average and there isn’t a lot of seating in the picnic area. We had to avoid sitting on the beach because of birds. The bush walks are nice with great views and white haven had crystal clear water and beautiful sand. The spot they chose for snorkeling had a lot of current and low visibility. We overheard a crew member wanting to go to another spot which was apparently better but we ended up at the alternate snorkeling spot. The boat didn’t feel crowded on a full tour which was nice. If you’re traveling in the winter bring a jacket even if it’s warm, you are in the shade and wind for most of the day. Overall it was a good way to spend the day!

Really nice and fun crew - Really friendly and helpful crew! We had a great day with Zigzag at the Whitsundays. The boat goes very fast, and most seats are in the shade - so in july it is a chill ride - bring a warm sweatshirt/sweater . They offer long raincoats to borrow on the boat trip - remember to say yes please to this even if it doesn’t rain!

Great islands with open boat and lots of splash water - Nice crew, 2 great beaches, great view from the lookouts, hikes up to it are good to create. Lunch was fine.
Unfortunately no indication - despite demand- that you get completely soaked in the seats at the back of the outward journey (2 hours short!)! It was very uncomfortable. We were visibly no snorkelers and had no wetsuits on - communication would have been desirable here, even for foreigners.
Also uncomfortable for us: After the 2. Island to get on the boat, we had to go to the belly button in the water! First it was just before: to the knee. Otherwise we would have put on bathing gear, there was no time for that. Also very uncomfortable.
One should urgently add notes to the booking: Not suitable for non-snorkelers. Speedboat where a lot of spray comes in and you get very wet. No closed boat!
