A really great day out! - We were in Aix without a car but I really wanted to go to Cassis and so this guided trip was ideal for us. It turned out to be a real highlight of our holiday, not least because of our excellent host Camille. She was extremely knowledgeable, great fun and also an excellent driver! The whole experience was fantastic - Cassis is beautiful of course and we loved the boat trip to the Calanques, had a really good lunch at a restaurant recommended by Camille and then on to the astounding viewpoint over the town and sea. I'm not a huge wine drinker so I was probably least enthusiastic about the wine tasting leading up to the trip BUT I really enjoyed that too, learned a lot and bought some wine and olive oil! There's a lot packed in to this trip but it never felt rushed and its the host who really makes these things special and we scored with ours. We were also lucky to have a really lovely group to share it with. A really memorable experience!

Cassis is a must-see. - It was a great excursion. Our guid Alex was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the area as well as all facets of life in Provence, which made the tour much more fun. The boat tour is a must, an experience you should not miss. We had a lot of free time in Cassis, I toured the area & had a relaxing "Boullabiasse" lunch at one of the restaurants in the harbor area. The lookout is also a must, & the wine tasting was lovely.

Beautiful Calanques…wish we could swim! - We booked this tour because we really wanted to explore the Calanques and learn more about Provence wines. In retrospect I think you need 2 separate tours for this. Our guide was Camille who was engaging and friendly. Our first stop was the town of Cassis, where we got on a hour long boat to see the Calanques. I expected a private boat for our group but it had others on it. The captain gave commentary in French which I understood but others in our group did not. This boat ride was underwhelming. I’d recommend switching the agenda to actually including swimming in the Calanques with a private boat for the group. The nature itself is stunning. The Calanques are pristine clear bays flanked by the most impressive limestone cliffs. Now a national park, they previously mined a lot of the limestone here to build the ports around the area. We observed kayakers and swimmers in each bay. Next we went to Cap Canail which is a viewpoint with a birds eye views of the town. We then stopped for 2 hours in Cassis to enjoy lunch and explore. Our group enjoyed eating lunch together and Camille was great at helping us order food. Then we were off to a winery called Bodin. We enjoyed the wine tasting. It was informative and the wine was good. However while we were there a few other tour groups also showed up. This clearly annoyed the lady at the winery doing the tastings and she bitched about it to our group which felt unprofessional. We did enjoy the wine and tried to buy the wine to be shipped, they emailed us a quote but never bothered responding to our follow up question. There are fantastic other wineries we self toured along the D98 road between Hyères and St Tropez, maybe make the winery tour separate.
