There are three options for a one-day Ajanta and Ellora caves itinerary.

ITINERARY NO. 1:
Aurangabad to Ellora Caves to Daulatabad Fort to Bibi ka Maqbara to Aurangabad.
We will pick you up from your selected location in Aurangabad at 8:00 or 10:00 a.m. and proceed to Ellora Caves, which are 30 kilometers away. The drive will take approximately 1 hour. Ellora features 34 caves, and you will need about three to four hours to explore them. After the Ellora tour, you may have lunch, and the driver will assist in finding a good restaurant. On the return journey to Aurangabad, you will visit Daulatabad Fort and Bibi Ka Maqbara. The tour concludes here, and you can choose your drop-off location—hotel, railway station, or airport.

ITINERARY NO. 2:
Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves to Aurangabad.
At 8:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your chosen location in Aurangabad and head to Ajanta Caves, located 100 kilometers away. The drive will take about 2 hours, with an option for a tea or restroom break along the way. Ajanta has 29 caves, requiring three to four hours to visit. After the tour, you may have lunch, and the driver will help find a suitable restaurant. You will then return to Aurangabad, where the tour ends. You can select your drop-off point—hotel, railway station, or airport.

ITINERARY NO. 3:
Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves to Ellora Caves to Aurangabad.
The tour departs from Aurangabad airport or hotel at 7:00 a.m., covering a 100-kilometer journey to Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ajanta features 29 Buddhist caves showcasing ancient Indian history through exquisite paintings and carvings. Afterward, you may have lunch, and the driver will recommend good restaurants. The journey then continues with a 2-hour drive to the 95-kilometer-long Ellora Caves, a complex of rock temples representing Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Formed between the 5th and 13th centuries AD, Ellora includes 12 Buddhist caves, 5 Jain temples, and 17 Hindu temples. After sightseeing, the tour concludes at your hotel or the airport in Aurangabad.

If your reservation is for Monday, then we will show you Ellora Caves, Daulatabad Fort, and Bibi ka Maqbara, and if your reservation is for Tuesday, then you will be able to see Ajanta Caves and Bibi ka Maqbara.

Great trip - We made Ellora and Ajanata tour in one day. It was tough as both places need lots of attention and are simply amazing in different ways. But we managed and it was day full of joy and beauty. Also because of great guidance and driving skills of our driver Mr. Sulemam. He told us also a lot about life in India so we had very interesting trip and learned about local tradition. Punctuality and suppport was simply perfect !!! There no thing we could add to be improved so keep the good work 🙂 see you hopefully

Ajanta and Ellora trip - We spent four nights in Aurangabad and stayed at hotel Sparkling Pearl next to the INOX theatre. The hotel location is great - close to nice restaurants. For vegetetians I will recommend the greenleaf restaurant - 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Try the ayurveda tea nearby at cannought, CIDCO - you will love it. First day we went to Shirdi and back. Second day we did the trip to Ellora and the Gruhshneshwar temple (one of the Jyothilingams). Third day we did the day trip to Ajantha. We engaged the hotel taxi that cost us Rs 9500 for the three days. Do engage a guide preferably a govt guide) in Ajanta and Ellora. They charge Rs 2050 for a group of 5 persons.

Unforgettable tour to Ajanta and Ellora caves - Amazing! Two places I will never forget! The experience was wonderful thanks to the guide, Gani, who knows the place very well and takes fantastic photos, and to the driver, Samad, who drove safely on the difficult roads in the area. Totally recommended!

A great full day! - Operators and guide of My Choice were absolutely professional. If you just have one day, this option works perfectly because they provide airport pickup early in the morning. Hiring a guide at the caves was key to get to know the highlits of Ajanta and Ellora caves in a limited time.

Day tour of Ajanta and Ellora caves from Aurangabad - Mr Sherkhan was my driver and guide. He was polite, professional, helpful and accommodating. He also picked knowledgeable and experienced guides for Ajanta (Mr Nasir? I hope I got the spelling correct) and Ellora (Mr Ali) which enhanced my enjoyment of these sites.

Amazing experience. - We visited Ajanta, Ellora and Aurangabad. Share Khan was very accommodating and took us around the places explaining all the nitty gritty of the place. Also gave up tips on how to cover the places. He also helped in getting the best guide for us in Ajanta and Ellora. He is very well connected and the best in business.
