Your immersion into the darkness starts as you first look up with your naked eyes. You will then get to see deeper into space thanks to our binoculars and telescope.
Follow our Guide as he takes you on a journey of discoveries. Ask him any questions you might have about our night sky!
No prior astronomy knowledge is required.
On a clear night, it is essentially impossible to run out of objects to look for in the night sky, making stargazing an infinite source of inspiration and amazement.

Our stargazing location is a short 5-minute drive from Akaroa township. Luca will greet you at the carpark 10 minutes before the tour departure.

Awe-some! - Loved the experience - star gazing is a way to reconnect with the present and realise how truly vast and spectacular the universe is. Passionate tour guide very knowledgeable and appreciate the ability to help out one of our party that had mobility issues. Thanks for the awe!

Awesome night out! - Great night out! Luca is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Would readily recommend this to anyone interested in star gazing.
Also, Luca was very accommodating, moving the booking twice, once due to bad whether and the other due to illness on our side, without any issues.

Amazing stargazing experience - Luca is incredibly passionate and his enthusiasm infected us! We really enjoyed the tour, the stars and learnt a lot from him. It was a beautiful tour and would recommend this to anyone wanting to experience something surreal and ... out of this world!!

A cosmic entry - Luka is a passionate and knowlegable leader. If you are interested in being part of a mind-expanding experience, be prepared to enter a world of many questions and hightened wonder. The vastness of the universe is awe-inspiring and humbling and Lukas is great at facilitating this journey.

Spectacular evening!!! - This was a truly amazing experience! we sqw the aurora borealis in full spectacular display! Our guide was amazing, and he was very knowledgeable it was truly one of the best things we've ever done!! Also he had a great sense of humor.

Incredibly special experience ⭐️ - Such an incredible experience!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. We learnt a lot and had amazing views! The hot chocolate, blankets and photo were rally special extra touches. Highlight of our trip!

Leaving in awe of space and feeling super educated - Amazing night sky, very knowledgeable and friendly guide, great value for money, and leaving in awe of space and astronomy. I went with my girlfriend on a beautiful night where we saw Jupiter, shooting stars, Etu Carinae and some other star nurseries. It was full of amazing facts and we really enjoyed ourselves. He educated us on light pollution the effects it can have on the environment. We had blankets for when we got cold and seats to lie back on to look up at the stars. We even had a complimentary hot drink which was a nice touch even on a nice warmish night. I think this is a must do activity if you are in Akaroa overnight.

Magical stargazing experience in Akaroa! - Incredible experience! Luca is an amazing guide, and the tour is super well organised. We all had plenty of time on the telescopes and learned so much about the sky and the stars. There were blankets and hot tea to stay warm. The location requires little walking and is on safe grounds so accessible to all ages. A truly magical experience!!
