Great time on the Santorini Archeology, Culture & Wine Tour - This tour was so enjoyable and enlightening. We went to see the excavation site of the ancient city of Akrotiri, which I thought was very interesting. We walked through the old traditional village of Emporio, which was beautiful. The architecture, the castle, homes, and narrow lanes were great to experience first hand. We went to the black beach and the Art Space Winery. The winery is quaint and beautiful. We picked up a couple bottles of wine to bring home. Estavros, our guide, was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and had a great personality. Tomas our driver did a wonderful job navigating the tricky roads.

Fun way to see Santorini , great, fun guide and driver - Stravos and Thomas were excellent. It was a small group and was a good size 7 people. We went to Akrotiri , black sand beach, walked village with cave houses and the winery. Stravos did an excellent job on educating us on the island and has a great sense of humor, very personable.

Great tour - highly recommend! - My wife and I had an awesome time on our Santorini discovery and wine tour. Stavros was a fantastic tour guide and was so knowledgeable about the wine and his home island. The tour took us to the archaeological site of Akrotiri, the beautiful, traditional Greek village of Emporio, and finally to the Art Space winery where we enjoyed an afternoon wine tasting! This tour was not wine heavy, only stopped at the one winery, but it was a great way to see the bulk of Santorini and get outside of the main villages.

The many wonders of Santorini! - Our time in Santorini was short and we wanted to savor as much as we could. Our travel agent had set up our group of four with Santorini Wine tours. What a wonderful varied program they offer. We started with a visit to Akrotiri, a Cycladic Bronze Age settlement that was destroyed in the Theran eruption in the 16th century BC and buried in volcanic ash. The settlement is so well preserved that the remains of fine frescoes as well as objects and artworks were unearthed. The site can be likened to Pompeii and we marveled at all that has been excavated.  Our guide was so knowledgeable and eager to answer our many questions. We moved on to visit a black sand beach and then a charming hill town built by the Venetians during their occupation of the island. The Castle of Pyrgos sits at the top of a hill surrounded by the village which hosts narrow labyrinth streets, fortified walls and hidden passages. Our guide, Elsa, lives in this town so she took us through the twists and turns as we climbed the hill. Next to the fields of a local winery where our guide explained the soil, moisture and growing season. We then stopped at Anhydrous Winery for an amazing multi course lunch with wine pairings....and the pairings were spot on!  What a wonderful day. Thank you Santorini Wine Tours.
