- Akumal - Ever fantasized about snorkeling alongside turtles in their natural habitat? Embark on our Turtle Snorkel Adventure in Akumal to gain insights into turtles and their significance to marine ecosystems, as well as the reasons behind their endangered status.\n\nThe experience kicks off with a turtle primer, exploring the nature of these creatures, the variety of species present in Mexico, the unique traits of each species, and identification methods.\n\nNext, we’ll embark on a 50-minute snorkeling journey through the seagrass pathways where green turtles can be found serenely munching on seagrass beds. Post-snorkeling, we’ll examine turtle nests on the shore (timing varies with the season) and delve into the nesting cycle and our conservation efforts for these nests.\nAlong the way, we’ll encounter a diverse array of marine life including birds, fish, and corals. Our adventure concludes with a beachside snack, during which we’ll converse about actions we can take to safeguard the future of nesting turtles.\nThis outing offers participants a delightful peek into the world of marine biology, leaving them with a deepened appreciation for the ocean and a beaming smile.
