Excellent Refund Experience After Cruise Itinerary Change Due to Hurricane - As cruise passengers, we were initially hesitant about booking a local tour instead of an official cruise excursion. However, after emailing the owner, Reynir Már Sigurvinsson, he assured us "if the cruise ship can't dock, it is a full refund."
I booked the "All in One" 9-hour private tour for my family. Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Ernesto, the cruise altered its itinerary and was no longer stopping in Akureyri, so I had to cancel the tour.
The cancellation process was seamless. After emailing Star Travel to cancel, I promptly received a full refund, following their quick response. They are a highly reliable and trustworthy company.

Unforgettable day with the best local guide! - I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Our guide, Runar, absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way - his knowledge and stories were captivating; he was patient, kind, and adaptable to our needs and interests; and he fit so much incredible sightseeing into a day that still felt leisurely and fun. It's clear how much he loves his homeland, and what pride he takes in sharing it. The waterfalls were stunning, the mud pots were fascinating, and the extra stops we made just filled our hearts with joy (I won't spoil them for you!) We did bus tours elsewhere, and the private experience is so much better. Book this tour, ask for Runar, and just trust him to take you on an adventure.

My family visited... - My family visited Akureyri for the day from a cruise ship in August. We had an amazing tour of the Lake Myvatn area. By the end of the day, our guide Petur had become a member of the family. He took the time to stop and show us Iceland beyond moving from one landmark to the next. We explored streams, little shops, and horses. We tasted local chocolates, bread baked in the earth and Icelandic Coca Cola. He told us about living in the area and we learned about everything- the waterfalls, animals and local culture. We were sad to return to the ship! This tour was just what we were looking for and we will always remember the fun we had in Akureyri!

Great Private Tour in Northern Iceland - Lovely private tour with Star Travel that we had booked with them for when our cruise stopped at Akureyri. Our tour included visiting Godafoss, the Myvatn Nature Baths and Dettifoss (which was especially amazing).
Our guide Guðrún was terrific and went out of her way to show us a few sites that she thought we would be interested in. She even gave us a great recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend!

Great Knowledgeable Guides who are Native Icelanders! Loved it. - Wonderful guide! Our guide was phenomenal - he had grown up in Iceland as had his parents and grandparents and...way far back. As such, we got an exceptionally knowledgeable tour guide. We particularly enjoyed his personal and family stories of growing up in Iceland - at the lake in the summers, helping on the farm... What a great day we had.

Very friendly and knowledgeable guide Reynir made our trip super memorable! We took multiple packages with the company - Me and my wife are on honeymoon in Iceland from India. We did a lot of tours in the same day with reynir and he is so helpful and kind. He explained everything, answered all our questions patiently and most of all- guided us about things even outside the tours.
His English is very good, and he is passionate about what he does. He took some great pictures of us as well!
We wish his company all the best!
100% choose this company for a nice and convenient tour around Iceland!

Fantastic - Absolutely fantastic 10 hours private tour from Akureyri with Reynir our driver-guide. He was attentive and informative, organised a superb sightseeing tour to visit numerous sites in northern Iceland, such as Godafoss, Myvatn lake, lava fields, Viti crater lake, Dettifoss, Hafragilsfoss, Husavik. We also had many stops to visit interesting attractions with plenty of photo taking of the beautiful landscape features and scenery. Lots of happy memories.

Iceland!! - Aurora Borealis in Iceland, Land of the Sagas. The Northern Lights, also called Aurora Borealis, and Norðurljós in Icelandic, are one of the most spectacular shows on this earth and can frequently be seen in Iceland from September through March on clear and crisp nights. The Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, appear in a clear night sky as swirling rivers of greenish-blue light. They move and dance unpredictably; sometimes barely perceptible, then suddenly growing vivid. In simple terms, the auroras can be explained as an interaction of the solar wind and the Earth's magnetic field.
