• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only fully preserved likeness of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in pieces, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu is derived from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is a central figure in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.

• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, with some discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Additional statues were found during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.

• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also contained several statues of Menkaure.

• Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, often called the Sphinx of Giza or simply the Sphinx, is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature. Facing directly from west to east, it is situated on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt. The Sphinx’s face is believed to represent the pharaoh Khafre.
