Super special experience - Reham and her family were absolutely lovely. I was the only guest, so I had a private cooking lesson. The food was amazing, and Reham along with the UA guide helped me practice my arabic a bit as well. I saw her wedding album, her daughter Habiba showed me her drawings, and we danced and laughed after the meal. Reham even gifted me with a lovely scarf at the end of the night - a super special souvenir from my time in Egypt that I will always keep. If you are looking to really experience Egyptian life, and do more than just wander through the tourist sites, I would highly recommend this experience. It's wonderful to sit down and chat and really learn about the place you are visiting. I'm so glad I was able to step inside a real home and be made part of the family for an evening. There's so much more to Egypt than the tombs and the temples! The people are wonderful and this was also my best meal of my 2 week trip :-)

Fantastic evening - We had such a nice evening with our guide Marwa at the lovely home of Eman’s with her family. Such kind and generous people to have you into their home and show you how to prepare a few traditional dishes, and enjoy a yummy feast while talking and getting to know one another. One of our very favorite experiences while in Egypt!!

An amazing night with an incredibly welcoming family! - What a wonderful night! I had such a special time, and I felt so welcomed into their home. We had a delicious meal, and it felt even more special to have it during Ramadan. I felt like an immediate member of the family! It was a really great opportunity to spend some time with an Egyptian family, and to ask any questions that popped into my head. If you are interested in getting to know a little more about Egyptian culture, and so see what an Egyptian home looks like, and to share a home cooked meal with a local family, then you would absolutely love this experience! It has been one of my favorite nights in Egypt so far, and I would highly, highly recommend it!!

Wonderful evening with welcoming family - Our evening with Reham and her family was a warm and wonderful, not to mention tasty, experience. UA picked us up with an excellent driver and English-speaking guide for a drive in heavy traffic to Reham’s apartment in the Cairo suburbs. She welcomed us into her home with a meal of traditional dishes which we shared with her, our guide, her husband and two of their three children. Afterwards, we looked at wedding pictures, talked about our countries and ourselves and toured their apartment. I expressed an interest in learning more about the head scarf. Reham showed me how to tie one, and gave me one to take home. We spent a fun time taking pictures and friending each other on Facebook. At the end of the evening, our guide and the driver took us back to our hotel. It was an unforgettable evening and an experience I highly recommend.

What a great evening and introduction to Egypt - I had a wonderful evening with UA guide Hend, Mai and her daughters Fatima and Farida. Rush hour traffic was heavy but the driver did a great job and this enabled Hend and me to talk about what was happening in Egyptian society today as we made our way through Cairo. At Mai's home I was made to feel welcomed and comfortable . The food Mai prepared was delicious and a delight to eat . She explained what each dish was and how it fit into Egyptian cuisine. As we ate we were able to talk about many aspects of daily Egyptian life:cost of living, education, healthcare, customs and culture . It was a great evening and I have recommended it to many people I have spoken to since. Many thanks to Hend, Mai and her family for a wonderful first evening in Egypt.
