Giza Plateau - Anytime between 7:00 am and 11:00 am, you will be picked up from Cairo International Airport by our tour guide to start your Cairo layover tour to the Giza Pyramids. Here, you will visit the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, as well as the Middle and Small Pyramids. You will also visit the Valley Temple and the Sphinx, and enjoy a camel ride around the Great Pyramid.

Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site has not been excavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, which was largely destroyed when the village was built.

Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Others were discovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.

Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.

Great Sphinx - Conclude your layover day tour with a visit to the Sphinx, located near the Valley Temple. The Sphinx is the oldest and largest in Egypt, featuring the body of a lion and the head of a human, symbolizing power and intellect. The face of the Sphinx is a portrait of Khafre, who built the Middle Pyramid of Giza.
Camel rides and entry inside any of the pyramids can be arranged for an additional charge.
After your visit, you will be transferred back to Cairo Airport.
