Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site has not been fully excavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, which was largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
-
Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. Several statues of Khafre were found in the valley temple, some discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
-
Great Sphinx - Visit the Valley Temple where priests mummified King Chephren’s body. Here, you will also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian of the massive funerary complex with a lion’s body and King Chephren’s head. This is a great spot for taking memorable photos with the Sphinx, and our guide will help you capture some fun shots.
-
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Continue your day tour at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses a rare collection of 5,000 years of art, the largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are on display, including a dedicated exhibit of the Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, which were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before being discovered in the 1920s.
-
