Giza Plateau - Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a tour guide to embark on a full-day tour of Giza. Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, which have been among the world’s most renowned tourist attractions since Roman times. These magnificent structures served as the final resting places for kings of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed for King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), while the other two were built for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three, and it remained the tallest structure for 3,800 years! Although the three pyramids dominate the plateau, they are surrounded by numerous other monuments. Each king’s pyramid was part of a larger complex that included smaller queens’ pyramids and an additional symbolic tomb for the king.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Situated 40 km southwest of Cairo, Saqqara is a significant cemetery of Memphis, one of the most important cities in ancient Egyptian history. The site’s name likely originates from Sokar, the god of this necropolis.
Saqqara is an open-air museum showcasing all of ancient Egyptian history. Kings and noblemen from the first two dynasties (c.3040–2686 BC) were interred here, and it is also home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser (c.2686–2667 BC).
The pyramids of some of the most notable kings of the Old Kingdom’s Fifth (c.2494–2345 BC) and Sixth (c.2345–2181 BC) Dynasties are located in Saqqara. Among them, the pyramid of Unas (also known as Wenis; c.2375–2345 BC) features the oldest pyramid burial chamber adorned with texts. These Pyramid Texts were intended to protect the deceased king on his journey to the afterlife.
- Memphis Tours - Memphis, near the modern village of Mit Rahina close to Cairo, and its necropolis were added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1979. Allegedly founded by Egypt’s first king, Menes, in 3100 BC, Memphis was the capital during the Early Dynastic Period (c.3100–2686 BC) and Old Kingdom (c.2686–2181 BC), remaining a key city throughout over three thousand years of ancient Egyptian history. It was a center for the worship of the god Ptah, whose temple was among the most significant in ancient Egypt. The word “Egypt” is derived from the temple’s ancient name, Hikuptah, meaning “The Temple of the ka (‘soul’) of Ptah.” The city’s longevity is evident in the vast number of ancient cemeteries in its vicinity.
At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.
- Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is a crucial archaeological site in Saqqara, discovered by Auguste Mariette.

Ti (also spelled Ty) was a senior official and royal architect in the Fifth Dynasty, serving under several kings. He oversaw the sun temples of Neferirkare and Niuserre. His wife was Neferhetepes.

Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas (Egyptian: Nfr swt Wnjs “Beautiful are the places of Unas”) is a smooth-sided pyramid built in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty. It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but is significant due to the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed on the walls of its subterranean chambers. First inscribed in Unas’s pyramid, the tradition of funerary texts continued in the pyramids of later rulers, through to the end of the Old Kingdom, and into the Middle Kingdom with the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.
