Highlights
  • Giza Plateau - Begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your Cairo/Giza hotel by a tour guide. Start your full-day tour visiting the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple where King Chephren’s body was mummified. Here, you will also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the vast funeral complex.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of King Khufu is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a later-period temple ruin at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents, such as the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty, where Khufu is the main character.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - Visiting the Sphinx and Valley Temple on a camel ride at the Giza Pyramids offers a unique experience, making you feel like you’ve traveled back in time by hundreds of years.
  • Memphis and Sakkara - Visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

  • Dahshur Lake - Visit the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). Dahshur is a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Cairo. It is known for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built between 2613–2589 BCE.
  • Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. See the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser), an important part of the pyramid evolution from the simple mastaba to its well-known form.
  • Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas (Egyptian: Nfr swt Wnjs “Beautiful are the places of Unas”) is a smooth-sided pyramid built in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty. It is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but significant for the Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed on the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts began with Unas’s pyramid and continued in the pyramids of later rulers, through the end of the Old Kingdom and into the Middle Kingdom with the Coffin Texts that form the basis of the Book of the Dead.
  • Pyramid of Teti - The Pyramid of Teti, located in Saqqara, Egypt, is an ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. It stands as a testament to the ingenuity and architectural prowess of the Old Kingdom, attracting visitors worldwide with its impressive size and historical significance. Explore the chambers and corridors to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
  • Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of the most important archaeological sites in Saqqara. Discovered by Auguste Mariette, the mastaba contains two serdabs. The tomb walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
