- Giza Plateau - begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo/Giza by a guide to start your full-day tour visiting the Giza Pyramids. You’ll visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos, then proceed to the Valley Temple where the priests mummified King Chephren’s body. Here, you’ll also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the massive funeral complex. The pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx are among the world’s most famous tourist attractions, even during Roman times. Each of these magnificent structures served as the final resting place for a king of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), with the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three, and it remained the tallest structure for 3,800 years!
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Others were discovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx - Then visit The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the massive funeral complex.
- Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Next, visit Sakkara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo. See the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser), an important part of the pyramid evolution process, transitioning from the simple mastaba to its well-known form.
- Pyramid of Teti - The Pyramid of Teti in Saqqara, Egypt, is a fascinating ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. This pyramid stands as a testament to the Old Kingdom’s ingenuity and architectural skill, attracting visitors worldwide with its impressive size and historical significance. Explore the pyramid’s chambers and corridors to uncover ancient Egypt’s mysteries and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
- Pyramid of Unas - Enhance your home decor with a magnificent replica of the Pyramid of Unas. This stunning piece features intricate detailing and a striking design, adding a touch of ancient Egyptian elegance to any room. Crafted with quality materials, this pyramid is perfect for any collector’s display or history enthusiast’s collection. Bring a piece of ancient history into your home with the Pyramid of Unas.
- Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of Saqqara’s most important archaeological sites, discovered by Auguste Mariette. The mastaba contains two serdabs, and its walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Then visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you’ll see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. (1 hour spent).
- Dahshur lake - Then visit the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). The Dahshur area is a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, about 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. It is known for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built from 2613–2589 BCE.
