Your guide will collect you from your accommodation and you’ll set off towards Albatinah Province. The real adventure begins at Wadi Bni Auf, the launch point for the off-road journey. Following a drive along a rough, unpaved track, your guide will pause to allow you to observe the entrance to Snake Canyon and curious rocks that emit a foul, egg-like odor. Here, you’ll also learn intriguing facts about petroleum and its connection to this unusual scent. Continuing the expedition, you’ll navigate mountain roads for around another hour, passing by secluded villages, farms and Falaj, until eventually arriving at the Hatt Mountain’s ‘balcony’, offering incredible road views from a height of 2000m. Your guide will then escort you to Alhoota cave, where you can explore its interiors and take in the educational exhibits at the geology museum. The next stop is Misfat Al Abriyeen, where you can stroll among ancient houses and farms, and enjoy a hearty meal in the village. After these enriching experiences, the journey concludes and your guide will chauffeur you back to Muscat.
