Muscat-Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands (Camping)

Wadi Bani Khalid - In the morning, our tour guide will meet you at your pick-up location. Today, we head to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the largest and most stunning wadis in Oman. After arriving, a short walk of about 5 to 10 minutes (walking shoes are necessary) will lead you to sparkling, blue, clear water pools that are 9 meters deep, perfect for a long swim, relaxing, or sunbathing in the beautiful scenic Wadi Canyon.

Wahiba Sands - From Wadi Bani Khalid, we continue our journey to the desert, Wahiba Sands. This spectacular desert spans an area of 12,500 square kilometers and is also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. Formerly called “Wahiba Sands,” this desert region in Oman is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe, which is divided between the northern and southern governorates in the Eastern Region. The area is defined by a boundary of 180 kilometers (110 miles) from north to south and 80 kilometers (50 miles) from east to west. Watch the stunning sunset over the dunes and enjoy a dinner cooked by our guide under the stars.

Wahiba Sands-Wadi Shab-Fins Beach-Sinkhole-Muscat

Wadi Shab - After watching the sunrise and finishing our breakfast, we say goodbye to the desert and drive to Wadi Shab. This wadi is an enormous canyon gorge lined with palm trees and impressive evidence of the power of water coming down from the mountains. With a 45-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes are required), we arrive at one of the crystal-clear water pools. Tourists can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the last pool where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue while water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

Fins Beach - From Wadi Shab, we’ll stop at Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This beach offers a panorama of strikingly white sands and an intriguingly pebbly shoreline, with sparkling turquoise waters and a soft, cool breeze.

Bimmah Sinkhole - From Fins Beach, we drive towards Bimmah Sinkhole, a water-filled depression in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman. This lake of turquoise waters is 50 meters by 70 meters wide and approximately 20 meters deep. It is only about 600 meters away from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village. The sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve the sinkhole, the local municipality developed a park there, and swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible. From the sinkhole, we drive back to Muscat.
