Muscat-Ibra-Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands (Camping)

Ibra - In the morning, the tour guide will be ready to meet you at your designated pick-up point. Today, the journey takes us to Ibra, where we will explore the ancient part of the town, which dates back nearly 1,000 years. Constructed from mud and limestone, this village is partially inhabited, allowing visitors to stroll through its historic streets.

Wadi Bani Khalid - From Ibra, the adventure continues to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s largest and most stunning wadis. Upon arrival, a brief 10-minute walk (walking shoes are recommended) leads to sparkling, clear blue pools, 9 meters deep, ideal for a refreshing swim or a relaxing sunbath amidst the picturesque Wadi Canyon.

Wahiba Sands - After Wadi Bani Khalid, the journey proceeds to the desert region of Wahiba Sands, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. This breathtaking desert spans 12,500 square kilometers and is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe. It stretches 180 kilometers north to south and 80 kilometers east to west. Visitors can enjoy a magnificent sunset over the dunes and savor a dinner prepared by the guide under the stars.

Wahiba Sands-Wadi Shab-Fins Beach-Sinkhole-Muscat

Wadi Shab - After witnessing the sunrise and enjoying breakfast, we bid farewell to the desert and head to Wadi Shab. This vast canyon gorge, adorned with palm trees, showcases the powerful impact of mountain waters on nature. A 45-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes are recommended) leads to crystal-clear pools, where tourists can swim from one to another. The final pool features an opening among massive rocks, allowing swimmers to enter a stunning crevice cave with a small waterfall. Sunlight filters in, turning the water a mesmerizing turquoise blue as it cascades down one side of the cave.

Fins Beach - From Wadi Shab, the journey continues to Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach. This location offers a breathtaking view of pristine white sands and a unique pebbly beach, complemented by sparkling turquoise waters and a gentle, cool breeze.

Bimmah Sinkhole - Leaving Fins Beach, we travel to Bimmah Sinkhole, a water-filled depression in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate, Oman. This turquoise lake measures 50 by 70 meters and is approximately 20 meters deep, located just 600 meters from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village. The sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve this natural wonder, a park has been developed by the local municipality, and swimming in the sinkhole lake is permitted. From the sinkhole, we return to Muscat.
