You’ll then be transferred in a private A/C vehicle to start your Cairo layover tour. Visit the Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, where you can see nine pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, the tallest pyramid ever built in Egypt and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Sphinx, representing King Kefren with a human head and a lion’s body, and the Valley Temple, where the mummification process of the king took place, are also highlights.
-
Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, largely destroyed when the village was built.
-
Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. Several statues of Khafre were discovered in the valley temple, some found in a well by Mariette in 1860 and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
-
Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.

Afterward, you’ll be transferred back to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
-
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Continue your Cairo layover tour with a visit to the Sakkara area, where King Djosser built the first pyramid-shaped tomb using limestone. Known as the Step Pyramid, this area also features a spacious court for Heb-Sed celebrations and the cemetery of nobles and officials, rich with pharaonic decorations, drawings, and paintings.
-
Pyramid of Teti - The Pyramid of Teti in Saqqara, Egypt, is an ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. -
Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas, built in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid but significant for the discovery of Pyramid Texts. These spells for the king’s afterlife were inscribed into the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition continued in the pyramids of subsequent rulers and evolved into the Coffin Texts, forming the basis of the Book of the Dead.
-
Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of Saqqara’s most important archaeological sites, discovered by Auguste Mariette. It contains two serdabs, and its walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
-
Memphis and Sakkara - Finally, visit Memphis, the first and oldest capital city of ancient Egypt, located on the eastern bank of the Nile. It features open-air masterpieces such as statues of King Ramses II, the god Ptah, the goddess Sekhmet, incense burners, coffins, and the Egyptian calendar.
