Highlights
  • Pyramids of Giza - begins at 7:00 am with a pickup from your Cairo/Giza hotel by a tour guide to start your full-day tour. Visit the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, explore the Valley Temple where priests mummified King Chephren’s body. Here, you will also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren.

Lunch is included between visits at a local restaurant, offering a full meal for each person, but beverages are not included.

  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, largely destroyed during the village’s construction.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860 and during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, Reisner, and Hassan.
  • Pyramid of Menkaure - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also revealed several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - The Sphinx dates back to the reign of King Khafre. During the New Kingdom, Amenhotep II dedicated a new temple to Hauron-Haremakhet, which was expanded by later rulers.
  • Giza Plateau - The Giza Plateau is a limestone plateau in Giza, Egypt, home to the Fourth Dynasty Giza pyramid complex, including the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village, and an industrial complex. It is the northernmost part of the 16,000 ha Pyramid Fields in the Western Desert edge of the Nile Valley, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Memphis, and its Necropolis. The plateau is elevated approximately 60 meters above sea level.

  • Pyramid of Unas - The pyramid of Unas, built in the 24th century BC for the Egyptian pharaoh Unas, is a smooth-sided pyramid and the smallest of the Old Kingdom. It is significant for the discovery of Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed into the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts began with Unas’s pyramid and continued through the Old and Middle Kingdoms.
  • Pyramid of Teti - Located in Saqqara, Egypt, the Pyramid of Teti is an ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. It stands as a testament to the ingenuity and architectural prowess of the Old Kingdom. Visitors can explore the chambers and corridors to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse themselves in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
  • Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of Saqqara’s most important archaeological sites, discovered by Auguste Mariette. The mastaba contains two serdabs, and its walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
  • Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Sakkara, located 27 km southwest of Cairo. Explore the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser, which is considered a crucial part of the pyramid evolution from the simple mastaba to its well-known form.
