Cairo Giza pyramids, and Citadel - Doing this tour with a guide that loves arqueology makes all the difference. Our guide Karim answered all the questions, and made some himself to keep it interesting. He was very accommodating and the driver was good (considering how they drive in Cairo).

To repeat if we return - Pick up at the hotel at the agreed time in a van in which we were super comfortable, with an exceptional guide Abir, a very friendly woman with perfect Spanish, and even with some complimentary bottles of water. We did 2 excursions with them and it was wonderful, much cheaper than the optional cruise excursions and with the exclusive guide you see everything much more personalized, detailed and fast, and without getting up as early as the group schedules.

wow...they made it great for americans - We were planning trip to egypt as a part of a larger mediterranean journey but we couldn't seem to get any cairo-based operators to respond to our group via email. EMO tours to the rescue ! a EMO representative name TAYSO communicated with us via WhatsApp and arranged three spectaualr days for our large group of 12. let's just say that we changed our minds a dozen times as we shaped our 3 days of egyptian adventures but EMO tours kept up the pace and delivered. we had a private van for our large group with air conditioning, english-speaking guide (named Nesma) and silly old us added a wifi on our vehicle for our Tik-Toking teens. we did it all from museums to bazaar to crawling through pyramids and camels and ATV rides - yes, all available and all cost effective and safe bottom line: the private tours from our hotel were very pricey. EMO tours was a better way to go and their punctuality and clear communication led to an A+ time. good job TAYSO and team for making memories of a lifetime for our Texas-based families.

I felt Rushed - The tour was okay, but it could have been amazing if our tour guide had been more engaged. She appeared tired throughout the day and even took naps in the passenger seat while we were driving between locations. The tour started off with confusion. We received a text from the tour guide saying our driver was already in the hotel lobby before our scheduled pickup time. We rushed downstairs, only to find that the driver was not there. Hotel staff checked everywhere, and the driver finally arrived about 15 minutes later. When we arrived at the Giza Pyramids, we were told we could not enter because my husband was wearing Meta glasses. We were never informed that Meta glasses were not allowed. There were no lockers available on-site, and our driver had already left, so we had nowhere to store them. Not wanting to miss the tour, we left the glasses with someone working in security and hoped they would still be there when we returned. Our guide took a photo of us outside the stone wall with the Sphinx behind us. We then boarded a bus that took us to about three different stops. We had the opportunity to enter one of the pyramids and later took another bus to the panoramic viewpoint. (Be aware that there is a fee to use the restroom on-site.) We initially considered doing a camel ride, but the guide mentioned it was an additional cost and that it was very hot. I felt somewhat persuaded not to do it. After the panoramic view, the tour guide began walking toward the security office as if the visit was over. I stopped her and said I wanted to go closer to the Sphinx to take photos. She seemed reluctant and asked, “You want to go on the other side of the wall?” I said yes. Her demeanor changed, and she walked far ahead of us without saying anything further. Once we reached the sandy area, she told us she would not be going in and would wait there. We asked another visitor to take our photos. A little while later, the guide came in and told us we needed to leave. I mentioned wanting to visit another area, but she said there was no more time. Back in the car, she again took a nap in the passenger seat. At the bazaar, we walked around briefly and wanted to explore further. She stopped us and said walking any farther would be dangerous because of a local bar nearby. We turned around and headed back. While waiting for the driver, she asked if she could do some shopping. We agreed and stood to the side while she made purchases until the driver arrived. I felt very rushed throughout the day, and we were not given much historical information at the sites. At lunch, my husband and I sat outside in the heat with a fan nearby, while the guide ate inside in the air conditioning. When we finished, we went to her table to let her know we were ready. She continued watching something on her phone and eating. We went back outside and waited about 15 minutes for her. In the end, we felt rushed and under-informed. We were dropped off at our hotel earlier than expected, which suggests we could have spent more time enjoying the sites but were not given that opportunity. When we arrived at the hotel, she did not get out of the car. My husband walked over to the passenger seat and gave her a $40 USD tip. He always tips, regardless of the level of service.
