In the park you can also see pumas, monkeys, orchids, among others besides enjoying the majestic five waterfalls. Variety of food at lunch included, served buffet style.

Highlights
- Fraijanes - As we ascend the terrain we will notice a change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful array of colors and textures.
Our first stop to learn about the culture of strawberry cultivation in the Alajuela area, our senses will be delighted by the local products in the demonstration.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens - We will continue our way to La Paz Waterfalls, upon arrival we will walk along a beautiful trail, which leads to different attractions of the park, including the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the exhibition of frogs, monkeys and cats. Eventually a delicious buffet lunch awaits us in the middle of the rainforest, after lunch we will take a hike where we can visit three impressive natural waterfalls formed by the same La Paz River.
It should be noted that this hike takes place in the tropical rainforest sector and consists of steps in some parts of the route, the trail is paved.

The time spent in the gardens is approximately 3 hours.

La paz waterfall - The waterfall was amazing, and the animals areas well. The buffett lunch had so much great food. Mario our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Fun, safe and well guided excursion! - We were picked up in a very nice van and the tour guide was personable, fun, knowledgeable and accommodating. He walked through the whole place with us and talked about the plants and animals. He told us interesting information during the drive as well.

Great Guide! - Alejandro narrated dusting the drive. It was interesting to hear about the area. Ricardo was a skilled driver. The trip was comfortable and easy….perfect end to our vacation! Well worth the cost.

First class tour - Fantastic rain forest tour. Tour guide Alejandro was the best. Pickup on time, in a nice clean comfortable van. Excellent restroom break on the way out. Lunch buffet yummy and plentiful. The main attraction, the waterfalls, was awesome. Thank you Tropicales.

Great tour! - What a wonderful experience! The guide, Javier, was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the flora and fauna, and he kept the pace lively and interesting. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing rescued examples of the less frequently seen animals of Costa Rica.

Ask for Jordan! Great Tour Guide! - Jordan was an absolutely exceptional tour guide. Well mannered, well informed and a joy to be around...and a great photographer.! This was my only punctual tour in Costa Rica, they said 6:20am and he was there at 6:19!
The tour itself was extensive and amazing. Having lunch in the middle of the rainforest was a truly unique experience. The variety of animals we saw, and that close up feel was amazing. The waterfalls were cool, but in my opinion the animals stole the show...and Jordan :D

A stunning nature/wildlife reserve. - This is such a great tour. The gardens are an absolutely highlight of our time in Costa Rica. The nature/wildlife is fascinating, and the guide is on hand to answer any questions that you have. In addition to the beautiful wildlife, the falls themselves are stunning and you see them from a different perspective coming from the garden, than you would just driving past them on the road. The lunch is a good buffet lunch that's filling and set amidst the rainforest. The only hesitation I have is that we found the strawberry store was a let down. We thought we would see or be among a strawberry field (especially since it was the season). However, it is just a standard store, that happens to sell some strawberries. But don't let that deter you; the gardens are a must see in Costa Rica if you love any kind of nature. This tour had them for 3-4 hours, which we found good, but there are longer tours if you really want to take some time to explore them.

Avoid using this company! - First, I want to say that the guide was excellent and we enjoyed our time at La Paz Waterfalls. However, the communication with the company was terrible. On the day before the tour, they confirmed our hotel pick-up time for 10 am the next morning. When they did not show to pick us up, the hotel concierge kindly called the company for us. In fact, she called the company 3 times, each time receiving a different reason why they were running late and a different time they would actually arrive to get us. They finally came about 90 minutes late, offered no apology, and then drove us another hour+ to join the larger group who had been sitting and waiting for us. Because we were so late, we did not get to stop and see/taste the strawberry farm as advertised. So, yes, I recommend a trip to La Paz but I would NOT use this company ever again!!!!
