Do you like jaw-dropping views? A good workout? Learning about Denali? If you answered “no” to any of those questions, this tour isn’t for you. But if you answered yes…

Ready? Leave the buses and boardwalks behind. Hike high into the Alaska Range. Feel the wind in your hair. As the views unfold, you can’t peel your eyes away. The rugged mountains rise around you like castles. The wide valleys stretch into the distance. The greens, reds, and blues of the tundra create a patchwork quilt unlike any other.

Great viewpoints during the tour and great tour guide! - The tour was better than we expected. We had a very good time with our guide Jason. He knows very well the area, the geographies, the flora and fauna of the place and he was kind all the time.

MUST DO EXCURSION IN DENALI (Derrick and Trinidad are the best!!!!) - We will remember this experience for the rest of our lives. 1) The Logistics - The logistics/communication from Northern Epics was ON POINT. They called to confirm a few days before, texted the day before to reconfirm and showed up exactly on time. Before the trip, the company's owner, Trinidad answered all of my questions and even recommended other activities and restaurants to check out. 2) The Hike - the perfect level of strenuous. Didn't kill us, but definitely was challenging enough that at the end of the experience, we felt like we achieved something. The views were absolutely incredible, and we had plenty of space to stop and take photos. 3) The Guide - In a word, Derrick was AMAZING. Not only was he knowledgeable, but he was super personable and really interesting to talk to. He provided us with the perfect amount of information on plants, geology, Denali and Alaska - he didn't drone on and on, instead found the perfect balance between fun and informative. He even helped us identify edible plants and berries to snack on along the way (make sure you still bring a granola bar or two). In short, we cannot recommend this excursion strongly enough!

Challenging but Rewarding Hike with an Amazing Guide! - I recently completed a challenging but incredibly rewarding hike with Derik as our guide, and I can't recommend it enough! The trail itself was demanding, with steep inclines and rugged terrain, but the stunning views at the top made every step worth it. Derik was phenomenal—super friendly, knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. He encouraged us when the going got tough and shared fascinating insights about the area, which added a lot to the experience. If you're up for a fun, challenging adventure with an excellent guide, this hike is a must! Don’t forget to bring plenty of water and a good camera to capture the breathtaking scenery. Thanks, Derik, for an unforgettable experience!

Fun AND educational - Trinidad was an excellent host and trail guide. He was very accommodating when our cruise itinerary changed and we had to change our pick up location. He then took us on a very enjoyable and informative hike. He did an excellent job of pacing it to match our abilities. We learned a lot about edible plants and sampled plenty of them. He is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. I highly recommend his tours.

Summit to Sugarloaf was awesome! - Me and my daughter came here wanting to do a fun hike with beautiful views and this was perfect! We had Derek as our guide and he was very fun and kind and helpful. He had great knowledge about many plants and other parts of nature on the trail as well as helped us every part of the way up and down. We ended up making it to the top… however, he had many options for different skill levels. Overall it was an amazing experience for the books!!!! Do it! Bring plenty of water and make sure your shoes have good tread!!! (That would have made our trek a lot faster- several areas we slid and it slowed us down!)
