• Palmer Visitor Information Center - The group will gather at the Palmer Visitor Center to go over the day’s itinerary.
• Hatcher Pass - Next, everyone will set off for the hiking destination. There are several options for hiking locations, which will be chosen based on the group’s preferences and hiking abilities.

The most frequently recommended hike is Eska Falls, located just outside the Hatcher Pass boundary in the Talkeetna Mountains. This hike can be up to 11 miles on potentially uneven terrain. The hidden waterfalls adventure is a round-trip journey with an elevation gain of approximately 2,500 feet.

Throughout the hike, there will be stops to discuss the local flora, fauna, the mining history of the Talkeetna Mountains, and the boreal forest.

At the turnaround point, there will be an extended break to enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains, weather permitting. The group will then return along the same trail to the trailhead.
