From here, we’ll follow a picturesque path leading us to this hidden gem.As we start our walk, you’ll immediately notice the tranquility of the Alassa Dam surroundings. The trail is well-marked, offering glimpses of the shimmering waters and the scenic hills that frame our journey.After a short stroll, we’ll reach a viewpoint overlooking the Alassa Dam. Pause here to appreciate the stunning views and capture some memorable photos. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of this reservoir. The abandoned Old Church of Saint Nicholas, a true hidden gem, which actually if floating on water.
- Caledonia Waterfalls - We’ll be embarking on a fantastic 2-hour journey along a mesmerizing trail that leads us to the captivating beauty of a waterfall. In fact, we’ll be kicking off our adventure from the trailhead, located just a short walk from Platres village center. Our trail winds through a lush forest, providing a perfect blend of shade and sunlight. Our initial steps will lead us through a dense forest canopy. Continuing our journey, we’ll follow the melodious sound of a gently flowing stream. The trail meanders alongside it, creating a soothing soundtrack for our hike .Our final stretch will bring us to the highlight of the day – the majestic waterfall. As we approach, you’ll feel the cool mist in the air, and the sound of cascading water will grow louder. Once we arrive, take your time to marvel at the sheer beauty of this natural wonder. Feel free to dip your toes in the refreshing pool if you’re up for it! This is a fantastic photo opportunity, so have those cameras ready!
- Omodos - Our journey takes us to the charming village of Omodos in Cyprus, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the rich culture and history of this picturesque locale. But that’s not all—we’ll also have the pleasure of stopping at a local family business winery to savor some of Cyprus’s finest wines. We’ll have the chance to taste a variety of wines, each with its own unique character and flavor profile. Then, as we step into the cobblestone streets of Omodos, you’ll immediately sense the unique atmosphere of this traditional Cypriot village. Our first stop is a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets and visit the iconic Linos (wine press) square, and explore the charming shops offering handmade crafts and local products. Before we head back, we’ll indulge in a delicious Cypriot lunch (at extra cost) at a local tavern. Savor traditional dishes and perhaps try some local specialties, setting the stage for the culinary delights yet to come.
