Additional Information

The Barolo wine tour from Alba begins with a scenic drive on the most panoramic wine routes of Piedmont, winding through eleven municipalities where Nebbiolo grapes are entitled to become Barolo wine.

Take in stunning views of the Langhe hills, in the Piedmont region of Italy: a vineyard-covered landscape dotted with medieval towers, castles and quaint hamlets.

Continue to a boutique Barolo wine cellar where the owner or the wine maker takes you inside the aging room. Enjoy a premium tasting of 4-5 wines, comparing different types of Barolo wine and the evolution of Nebbiolo grapes cultivated on different hillsides.

In the end, take a stroll in the town of Barolo or another one of the region, wandering around wine shops and soak up the slow-paced Italian lifestyle.

a wonderful time - I was able to visit the wine cellars of Barolo, which I had always wanted to visit. I met up with Marco, our guide and driver, at the Alba station and we spent 4 hours touring the area. Marco spoke good English, so it wasn't a problem even if I didn't speak Italian. (There may have been other guides, so I don't know what would have happened in that case.) There were three main attractions: a guided tour to a great vantage point of the vineyards, a walk around Barolo village, and a winery tour and tasting. All of them were wonderful, and I was very satisfied with the price. To be honest, it is difficult to get to Barolo by public transportation, so I definitely recommend taking a tour. (You can do it by renting a car, but even though the standards for drunk driving are different from those in Japan, I think it should be avoided if you are going to taste wine.)

Great tour to experience the beautiful Langhe and great Barolo wines. - Highly recommended tour to experience the beautiful Langhe and enjoy the wines of the region. We drove a scenic drive and went to a boutique winery where we tasted 5 different Nebbiolo and Barolo wines that were excellent, then we visited the quaint villages of Barolo and La Morra. Gabrielle is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him. Don’t miss this tour!

A fantastic experience - We booked the 4 hour Barolo wine tasting experience. Our guide and driver Gabriele was brilliant. He was waiting on time for our pick up and spent a few minutes going over the map and working out exactly what we were hoping for. He didn’t disappoint. We visited a wine museum, then went on a scenic tour of the vineyards ending up at a beautiful winery where we did some tasting before being dropped off back at our Airbnb. A great experience which felt completely tailor made.

Beautiful tour with great wine - Great tour in a beautiful area. Our guide and driver Gabriele was very knowledgeable about the area and told us a lot. He was also very helpful when we didn't know where to go for dinner. He also offered to call for us. It was a friendly atmosphere and it was fun. The tour of the winery was also exciting. Everything in perfect English.

Amazing day! - We had an amazing day with Sander. He provided a lot of history of the area and it’s wine regions. We learned a lot about the actual winemaking process and had a lovely time tasting different Barolo wines at a beautiful vineyard.

Too expensive - Friendly driver but too expensive for what we got. Damage. 4 glasses of wine to drink quickly, not in French. We had to translate everything. On the other hand, the driver was very nice, the tour was very friendly. But the price is much too expensive for 4 glasses, a few pieces of cheese and salami and a tour of the old town of Barolo and a visit to the wine cellars. Very nice staff but can't make up for this price! This is really not correct! Very disappointing !
