Barolo - Castello di Barolo, of ancient origins, the first body dates back to the 10th century, the castle has undergone several transformations over time. From a defense manor to a noble country residence, to a rigid college of religious: each destination has left some traces in the halls of the large building. What is most striking of the castle is its bulk, which dominates and almost crushes the town with its grandeur, a tangible image of the power of the lords of the places.
On the upper floors there is the ethnographic-oenological museum of Barolo, an exhibition of ancient viticultural and oenological tools in use in the area, documenting the life and work of the winemakers in the Langhe; in other rooms, a collection of wine crystals and old photographs of the town.
The Regional Enoteca is located in the cellars, where the Marquise Giulia baptized the first Barolo. Since 2010 it has housed the WiMu Wine Museum. - Fontanafredda - Visit to the Fontanafredda cellars of Serralunga D’Alba.
- Marchesi Alfieri s.r.l. Societa Agricola - As an alternative to visiting the Fontanafredda cellars you can choose these cellars with a guided tour and tasting

Relaxed, informative, definitely worth it - We saw all the main spots, and the personalized touch made the experience special. We skipped the usual group tour chaos and got to explore at our own pace.

This excursion is highly recommended. - This trip from Milan was nothing short of spectacular. Daniele, our driver, was excellent! Daniele was friendly, polite, professional, and well-versed in the area. He made sure we arrived early at noteworthy locations and enjoyed a leisurely morning tour of Lake Como. Additionally, Daniele got us the nicest lunch reservation at a lakefront restaurant. This excursion is highly recommended.

Disappointed - We expected a private tour of the Alba region with a private wine tasting. We also made sure it was in English. The driver was very kind, courteous, professional and the car was excellent. But he said very few words to us because his English was not very good. Therefore, we drove in silence and did not hear anything about the Alba area. We were dropped off at a wine museum (no tour…just walking alone) then did a tasting on our own. Then taken to the city of Alba to walk around and shop …for 3 hours. This would have been great except almost all the shops closed from 12:30-4:00. Then we were taken to a wine tasting at an industrial large production winery. It was not a private tasting as we were joined by 12 other people. Several were elderly and slowed down the tour. For over $1000 we were very disappointed. We prefer small boutique wineries and this was the exception.

Do not recommend - This was an overpriced trip, you don’t get the experience you are charged for.
You just get a private car with a driver. The driver was good though. . The tickets to the museums were not included, neither was the wine tasting experience. This is not a guided tour. Look for other options.

You’re better off booking a taxi - This was the most upsetting experience I booked on our trip to Italy. It was essentially just a taxi with a driver that clearly didn’t like us right from the start. I have had better conversations with the taxi drivers in Milan than this driver. The mood was somber and silent. I booked this expecting that the driver would share some stories or history of the area while we were driving through and offer suggestions of places to visit in the cities. Nope. It was brutal, sad and suffocating silence. When we would ask a question he said it was not a tour. Back to silence. Okay then. I guess I paid a lot of money to just be miserable all day and learn nothing. I would recommend that anyone else just save their money and book and taxi or Uber.
We went to the cities without much clue where to go and see. Again, I assumed the driver would tell us the best places to check out on the way so I didn’t research. That was a mistake.
Don’t book on Sunday!! The winery with the tasting was closed on Sunday, which I wish I would have known beforehand or I would not have booked this day!! Some communication in the listing about this or by the driver before we get to the winery would have been nice so we would have known to grab snacks in the other cities. We didn’t get to taste any wines and the truffle museum didn’t have staff outside the coffee bar so no truffle tasting either.
I would not recommend purchasing this experience unless your expectation is merely a fancy cab ride.
