Highlights
  • Seville - Review below the sights visited
  • Plaza de Espana - Set in the middle of the park’s elaborate Moorish-style gardens, Plaza de España was built in a classic Renaissance Revival style, and is now home to several important Government buildings.

. Its semi-elliptic floor is surrounded by an estuary that separates the inner plaza by a marble banister. Four tiled brick bridges, representing different regions of Spain, allow access across the estuary

  • Barrio Santa Cruz - “Bairro de Santa Cruz” the famous Jewish quarter located in the city center, surrounded by beautiful and big houses, palaces and white backyards smelling like flowers.

Wander around Santa Cruz, admiring its cluster of whitewashed houses and lively tapas bars that spill onto the streets

  • Catedral de Sevilla - Stop at least for photos outside Seville Cathedral, one of the world’s largest Gothic cathedrals.
  • Real Alcazar de Sevilla - The Cathedral and the “Alcazar” Palace – originally a Moorish fort and once the Royal family residence. This palace is one of the best remaining examples of “Mudéjar” architecture, a style under Christian rule in Spain using Islamic architectural influence.

Walk around the outside of Real Alcazar Palace, home of King Juan Carlos, and admire its array of architectural styles that range from Moorish to Neoclassical.

The entrance is not included and please be careful with the time if you decided to use all you free time in Seville (3 hours) to visit the palace

  • Torre del Oro - Sightsee independently, shop for souvenirs or relax over lunch in one of the city’s atmospheric tapas bars (own expense); how you enjoy your free time is up to you! Then, meet your guide at the prearranged time and travel back to your hotel in the Algarve where your day trip finishes.

The guide will provide you 3 hours in total in Seville to use on your own after giving all information and explanation of seville importance.

  • Parque de Maria Luisa - Explore Maria Luisa Park, and hear how its centerpiece square and palace complex Plaza de España was created for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition World’s Fair.

Good experience - Dominque was great. The trip was well organized. They picked us up at our resort, and dropped us off back there at the end.

Nice visit - Very enjoyable day, but know a few things before you go. From Albufeira to Seville is ~3 hrs by bus depending on pick up point, with a 30 min. gas station stop on the way The time in Seville is 4 hours, completely on your own. The guide will give you ideas and options for spending your time. If you book any skip-the-line tickets in advance, shoot for around 12pm (we booked our Cathedral tickets for 3pm, which was too close to the meeting back at the bus time. However our guide was very helpful in getting the time moved up at the main ticket office). The trip back was a little longer, ~3.5 hours, depending on your drop off point.

Well worth the trip. - The coach arrived on time. The guide was superb. Her English (and German) language were perfect. It was good to get a coffee stop on the way as it was needed for the toilet! Plenty of time given to tour the city but it should be no less than 4 hours free time. Return journey was very long- took around 4.5 hours but I understand traffic may have been heavy with alot of drop offs.

Day Trip of Seville with Melina. - Mika was a very pleasant and very knowledgeable host who knew her history and the way around Seville. She took us away from crowded areas and into places less travelled. Her English was great. She made the private tour so enjoyable. A great treat. We didn’t have a wine sampling as advertised but that’s OK. Thank you Milia.

An enjoyable trip gone sour. - Firstly, I was supposed to be picked up from the hotel Velamar at 7 am, the pick up spot/time was later changed to bus stand at 6:30 am, no identification of which bus to look for was ever provided. Due to number of emails floating, called twice a day before to verify everything, left messages but the calls were never returned. The tour operator was less than cordial ( really rude ) when asked question as happened personally with me in Seville. The instructions as to what time to return were unclear. Seville is one hour ahead of Portugal but she was still using the Portugal time for return. The confusion caused due to unclear instructions and changes in clock time resulted in a loss of one hour of my valuable time which could have been spent visiting monuments. All in all a horrible experience. I will never use Viator for my future trips.

Nice city too far - We spent more time on the bus than in Seville. The guide kept giving confusing instructions. Seville was beautiful. Thanks

Disgraceful - Even though my app said 7am pick up in 4 different places including meeting time and point, it turned out it was 6.30am. When i spoke to viator they basically said you were not there at pick up so will not refund, even though i sent them screenshots of their app saying pick up 7am. Will never use them again their customer service is appalling.
